Hey Everyone,
I was on the highway today, was driving for about 80km cruising @ 140km/h, not giving it at all(trying to save on gas). When all of a sudden i notice white smoke(coolant) pouring out my tailpipe. pull over immediatly(temperature was gauge was still in the safezone) shut the car off. popped the hood to see more white smoke coming from the turbo/exhaust manifold area. I could also hear a distinct noise of liquid(coolant) being poured/dripping around the turbo/manifold area .At first, I looked for external leaks...hoses, etc...couldnt find one. Then i looked at my tailpipe, and noticed puddles of coolant, also saw some coolant on the rear bumper. so I have come to a conclusion it must be an internal leak....and not a hose clamp, hose, etc. So I'm trying to figure out what it could be? Turbo seal? Headgasket? any other ideas? anyone have any suggestions on how to diagnoise it? maybe do a compression test? look to see if theres coolant in any cylinders? plugs? Is there any way to check to see if its the turbo seals?
ps..... I recently installed a Electronic Boost controller and was having problems keeping boost...it would spike to about 15psi then drop to 10psi and hold 10psi for a second and then slowly drop down to 5-6psi....so in other words it was not holding boost.....could this be another sign the turbo was on its way out?
