So yesterday I just installed a new Walboro 255 Fuel pump. A few hours later I ran the car to my cousins house. The car ran fine for about 5 miles, so I started running the car a little harder. Suddenly during the higher end of 3rd gear I hear a loud pop and the car began to die out, luckily I was right by a parking lot so I stopped by popped the hood and aparently my Enjuku racing hot pipe had off the coupler to the turbo while under boost.

I snugged the pipe back into the coupler and tightend her down. Now when I run my car I the car won't pick up boost. The car stays well low towards 15-20 vac and when I get to the higher RPM range above 2500 the exhaust will flutter and engine just sounds like sh*T. Is this only a boost leak or possible other problem? I'm kind of confused because the vehicle is on stock boost levels and happend right after the new fuel pump.... help guys! its finally the morning and I'd like to work on the car today w/ some light.

You know the funny part is part of me sort of just wants to buy a new top mount turbo kit.... when things go wrong..... upgrade! :duh:

PS btw, the throttle definitely seems a bit weaker if that helps.....

Make sure you didn't tighten down the coupler too much.

That will cause a boost leak also.

is your car smoking?

Couldve blown the turbo, i've seen that a few times when you pop off the hotpipe by the turbo under a hard pull, over spools the crap out of it. Take off the intake and check the shaft play.

most likely didn't blow the turbo, although that does happen eventually.

I'd put money on it being a leak somewhere else. Seems weird that it wont spool at all though, even with a nasty leak it should still spool to 0 without too much trouble.

I'd say check all the couplings, from the turbo to the TB. If you don't find a leak, check for shaft play, and upgrade! lol
