Hey, I have been wondering where those of you bought your sr20 motors. How was the service that you received? Did they give you tech advise? Did they not deliver what was promised or missing parts? I have had experience with Heavythrottle but i'm looking elsewhere. What do you wish that you did differently?

I usually just buy my motorsets incomplete from any local engine importer and piece my shit together. Cheaper, time consuming, and more headaches...but that's why it's called a project.

I got mine from venus auto. My ignitor chip failed like 6 months after I bought a clip from them; they gave me a new one for half price. They have good customer service. I had a friend that got a bad motor but was able to return it for another one. I don't think they really look at the motors so if you have it shipped to you, you just have to hope for a good one. They also have great prices.

i got my motor from jdmenginescorp.com and wen it came it had a bunch of shit in all the ports looked like fuking dried up fire extinguisher (not good lol) but after i cleaned the shit outa it and put the bitch in, it actually runs perfect just had a couple of problems with the tps sensor. no matter what you do, make sure your ready to put the motor in wen u get it or else you can easily get fucked if u recieve a blown turbo they only give 14 days warranty or some bs so u have to check that right away make sure no play in the turbines but other than that if you want an almost run-right guarentee your best shot is a front clip becuase all you have to do is take some pics before u swap and match it all up and i have a do it yourself wiring diagram ... did the swap right in my garage. othe rproblems could be bad injectors, or bad internals. whatver u do dont buy the motor n let it sit swap ir right away so if there are problems u send that shit back. or do some compression tests etc. the best place ive herd of for swaps is probably heavythrottle or jspecautosports.com. any questions feel free

flash options seems to have pretty good prices but someone told me they take forever to ship. What do you guys think about them?

Did you try searching this and different forums for Flashoptions? There is more than enough info on them and how much they suck.

Hey Sik, you make a good point that maybe I did not fully analyze. I will definately wait until I have all the required items to get the motor in and started within a couple days of when I receive it. I think the one thing I am worried about is the wiring. I have always been in to car audio and home theater and my skills with soldering aren't so bad, but I am preparing for the worst case scenario.

thats what i did. i started buying all the parts about 6-8 months before i bought the motor so i wouldnt have such a financial hit when i was ready to do the swap. also, the wiring is EASY..

What parts did you grab first? I was thinking the essentials like fuel pump, fmic, downpipe, clutch, rad & fan. There are a few other things on my list.
Did anyone have their engine shipped to their house? What did you do when it arrived? (after you spooged on it in front of the truck driver)
