So i wanted to clean up my engine bay a bit and make things a bit nicer looking and i kinda liked the idea of having the fuel lines AN hose and AN line.
Its an Sr and i already have aftermarket injectors so i dont want to convert to top-feed. And it seems that no one sells a aftermarket fuel rail for sidefeed injectors. Border is the only one and you have to get the injectors with them and its like 900 bucks which is out of my range.
they do make fittings that have a 5/16 barb on one side and -6 male on the other side so i could connect the AN fitting on with a fuel line Hose. i really dont want to do this to much either unless i have too.
my last option in modify my stock fuel rail. well on the FPR side i can take out the FPR and get those AN line adapters. so thats no problem. the fuel feed side tho is another story. someone suggested to me they have fittings that you can braze on and they wont create to much heat where is will warp the fuel rail and cuase my injectors to leak.
my question is if i found this piece that i could braze on would u think it would be a good idea, would it warp the rail and cuase my injectors to leak. also where can i find this fitting to weld on and what kinda of brazing would i do, silver or aluminum or brass? has anyone done this before if so please send me some pics.
if you guys have any other ideas please let me know?
also what metal is the fuel rail made of ?

Sell your current injectors...upgrade to top feed and open your door to more possibilities.

^yea I second that, if you plan on getting a new fuel rail, do it right. Brazing your stock one will probably yeild poor results.

well the problem is that i have a ecu rom tune that is specific for my injectors and i change to topfeed im gunna have to get the rail and injectors and new ecu tune.
also what is that part you linked to. that thing doesnt just screw in does it. i doubt i does since ive never heard of such a thing

use the same size injectors then. No need to change rom tunes, but I would check with the person who tuned your ecu first.
The fitting bolt into an aftermarket fuel rail.

IIRC HKS also makes a side feed rail that doesn't come with injectors...sard makes the adapter for the FPR side the other side you just need to find the thread pitch on the fitting aeroquip makes a ton of metric adapters

Take a stock fuel rail if you can find a spare to a machine shop and have them machine you a duplicate from aluminum tubing with the end fittings that you need. You can use pipe threads on the ends; there's no shortage of AN fittings that will work with those. I've used that option before. It may not be as cheap as brazing a fitting onto the end of your fuel rail, but it definitely won't cost $900, either.
Another trick you *might* be able to get away with on round fuel rails is to find a compression fitting designed to fit over a tube of the same diameter. If the outer diameter of the fuel rail is a common tube size, this'll be a very easy and cheap way to get yourself a fitting you can connect to an AN fitting. You can find fittings for many metric tubes in a McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com) catalog, although it may be a bit tricky to find a conversion fitting that will attach a metric tube to NPT pipe threads. This won't work if you have a funny sized outside tube, though (and definitely won't work for square fuel rails).

for having a custom rail made it would be cheaper to go top feed

Fuel Rail also deppends on what SR20 you have!!!
Most Fuel Rail options (HKS, SARD, etc..) are for the S13 SR20 only!!
If you have an S14/15 SR20 you will have to go all out on a JUN, Ikeya, etc.. Intake Manifold, just to have an aftermarket Fuel Rail.
Go top Mount!!

W-R-O-N-G!!! What the hell are you guys talking about!?!?! Look, all I did was take it to a local weld shop and brought the guy some lunch. He chopped off both ends, took some SS AN- fittings (-6) sized males on both ends and gave it back to me. WOW!! It cost me a whopping $10 for the fittings and $5 for labor. Please show me a Top Feed Rail for $15. The keep the rail from warpping by lowering the heat and clamping both ends of the rail down. I dont see the big discussion. Bust out a $20, get it done and start using AN fitting today.
