View Full Version : I love my S14 SR...

So, I pick up my S14 Blacktop on Thursday. Get the ECU and leave The SR and KA harness to be modified. I get the ECU home and can't tell if it's an Kouki or a Zenki. The motor looks like a Kouki, But I have never seen this ecu before.

I come to find out that it seems to be a 6cyl ecu.

Notice the 6 green things for the injectors. But the harness connector seems to be right. I dunno and I need to get my PowerFC order in.

Then my friend comes over to look it over and help me get it on an engine stand. He noticed the injectors and commented that they weren't stock. I thought the looked like the stock color but he said the clips were way to small.

This is my little rant of unanswered questions for now as I know I will find more fun stuff tommorow.

That's the reason I'm starting to hate th SR now. There's no documentation. Everything you need to know you have to learn on your own.

run the ecu part # through FAST, youll know for sure.

does that say WW? and not WC? Hmm you might be in trouble.

There is no sticker. The Injectors seem to be stock by color but the clips seem to be spliced on.

Keep in mind w/the ecu that you could have a kouki motor w/a zenki ecu. Thats what happened w/mine. You'll have to use the ecu to determine the model pfc you'll need. And, w/no sticker on the ecu I'm not sure how to determine which you have.

Yeah, I grabbed a Kouki ECU with the 3 row pinout. This looks like the zenki pinout. But there is no way it's a SR ECU. I will probably have to wait till Monday to get a final word from the shop.

Injectors might be aftermarket, we have some that are a lighter purple but are 550's.Sard maybe thats what they are I cant remember.

IIRC zenki has (or at least some have) EGR whereas kouki doesn't.

May wanna double check on that. Download the zenki fsm on zeroyon.com

Yeah My friend thought they were Sard 550's. I won't know till I get to the point of pulling one of them out. Second person saying the same thing kinda leads me more in that direction.

Yeah stocks are darker purple.The sards more of a lavender?

I'm also looking getting a power fc, but i dont know if i have a zenki or a kouki s14 ECU/motor. And all the ecu has on it is a TOMEI sticker.

Called the shop and it looks like I got a A31 Cefrio ECU. The harness checks out and it looks like the Harness is OK. Going to have to pull an injector to see what they are.

so u got an RB20 ECU? That shouldnt even screw onto an SR harness plug.
