it all depends on the offset

Depends on offset, 18s up front suck, but it can be done, I have 17x9.5 all around. -3 in front, +12 in back

i agree. 18s up front suck for track, but for daily, they're cool. I have 18x9.5 + 7 up front and its fine. Just a roll and some camber and you're good to go.

Depends on offset and rim spoke design...it needs to clear your brakes too.

Hahaha, Besides catastrophic understeer and ass in my face looks? none.

9.5 is easy balls on S14.
9.5 requires some thought on S13 buts still easy

Im on 9.5 +17 (+7 effective) on mine with +20 fenders.

S13 or S14? I'm running 18x9 +5 (outside fender equiv. to a 9.5 +11) on metal fenders up front on my S13. It can work, but on an S13 esp., it will take some work. Fenders need to rolled and possibly pulled slighty. Need camber. Need a BFH to go to town with inside the fenders. I rerouted my harness through the engine bay and got rid of that bigass grommet that it runs through in the firewall. The beat the fuck outta the firewall. It was rubbing at the base of the grommet where that little hump is. Now I'm golden. Still rubs directly over the tire, but that's cause I'm so low. Just beat everything out of the way underneath (firewall and front or wheel well). Also, beat the seam up top flat too, so everything is smooth. That way, if it rubs, it won't hurt the tires. Good luck!
