I have a 94 240 it is a coupe. Ok this is probably going to get the reponse of just buy a new engine. Ok I know for sure that I have a blown head gasket. As you know the car heats up very fast. So I figure that, that is the headgasket. So when I start it I have blue smoke and white smoke. I believe that the white smoke it from oil in the fuel line. The blue smoke I think is from the piston rings. So if the blue smoke is from the piston rings I would have to change those. Also everything I have driven it the radiator has been empty eventhough I have topped it off everytime. So I'm guess that the water going in because of head gasket.. I dont think it is a leak because I have not seem any water or oil spots under my car. I checked all of the hoses and there is no water comming out of those. If i have maybe a cracked head how could I check for it and or know.So I am at a loss right now I'm not to entirely sure about what is wrong with my car. So if anyone has any ideas as what is wrong with it please give your advice it would be greatly appreciated. Also if I need to change the headgasket could you tell me a website that can show me how to properly remove and put together the headgasket and possibly the piston rings
Oh I also checked the dipstick for the oil and its practially water with a small hint of oil.
Also the whenever I rev up the engine the belts start to sqeak and to be honest it sounds like ****.

Start by pressure testing the system, that will let you know whether your problem is the head gasket or elsewhere.
From there, you need to assess what the best course of action is from there, because a compression test on the cylinders to test the rings MIGHT be a bit useless, especially if the head gasket MIGHT not be the only problem. I was lucky, my car ran strong when the head gasket went, so that is the job at hand.
Given your description of having "oil in your water pan," as you described it, I am betting that it is a head gasket. You may have other problems as well, do you feel this is big enough to throw another engine at the car and have a similar problem somewhere down the road, or is this worth fixing to you?
As far as "instructions," on how to do the work, check this guy's signature:

No I plan on dropping a SR engine but I just want to fix it and drive it for the time being but if I start find more and more problems I will just go buy the SR.
I have the money to buy the SR right now but I'm saving for the whole disco potato upgrade and what other things I need to upgrade. I found a site www.heavythrottle.com where I can save a *** ton of money. Have to heard of this site and or recommend buying from it.

Okay, now if it was always your plan to get an SR, I suggest you start shopping, because the work you have ahead of you will not be worth it, only to have to turn and swap the engine... Go ahead with the swap, sell blood/sprem/crack to make whatever extra money you feel you will need

Go get your engine swapped in first, then worry bout upgrades later once you get the SR swapped in. Adding parts to your car during a swap can only complicate the things when you start trouble shooting on why the car wont start or wont run properly...

Agreed...for the most part.

Depending how mechanically inclined you are, how much time you have between now and the anticipated swap, and if the car is your daily driver you might just want to go ahead with the headgasket fix.

Do a leak down test, they're usually more accurate. White smoke = coolant, blue smoke = oil.

By the way, if you are going to do the swap, buy an Engine Gasket kit. That way you can replace all the gaskets before dropping the motor and don't have to worry about deteriorated gaskets making your new purchase run like crap. I wish I had done this.

So halve your saying I should replace the gaskets on the SR I buy.

Yes!

Face it, you don't know how long your engine's been sitting in some Japanese junkyard, or if the driver abused the hell out of it before he wrecked his car, or if regular maintenance was performed on the engine, etc., etc.

The gasket kit I mentioned has all of the gaskets that are on the engine. Worn gaskets will make your car run like shit. So, why not replace them while the engine is still out of the car and easy to work on?

It's cheap and easy preventive maintenance and will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
