It looks good sitting still but when are we going to see some action shots?

Wow, that looks fantastic. It actually makes more sense to use an engine with the turbo on the right side, since it gets out of the way of all LHD equipment (steering rack, brake booster, master cylinders, etc.) Where did you source the donor engine, or is all that info on the website? I second the idea of some action shots, maybe even some video so we can hear it screaming!

tech2drew

Yes the turbo on the right side is excellent. There are no clearance problems with the down pipe. The engine is from a Toyota Aristo "GS300 Here". They can be had for $2200. My site has info as well.

Oooh, I love the S2000 gauge cluster, so trick. Is that a going to be a nightmare getting the compatibility? I checked out the website, but I didn't really see any info that documents the swap, build-up, etc. Am I looking in the wrong place?

tech2drew
10-20-2006, 05:01 PM
Check out the gallery there are pics of the build up there. I have to buy two black boxes to make the S2000 cluster work. One for the temp and the other for the RPM's.

Drew

I'm loving the setup... so damn sick and clean... I'd tap it... The beauty compliments the saturation... So sleek and pristine... From a graphics designer point of view this car is utter eye candy...

I love this swap. So much that we are doing it on our project S14! After talking with Drew we decided that we wanted to try this swap and it does not seem to difficult at all. Although we have not recieved our kit yet it seems to be very complete, and talking to Drew has lead us to believe nothing is left out (except wiring, but thats what forum's are for!).

The weight difference is nothing to be worried about on a street car, and I think I can tune the suspension to handle just fine with the slight weight increase.

You can check our build at www.kougakuracing.com/buildpage.html . Although we havn't started on the 2jz portion of it, we are getting to it!
