so..I'm rebuilding an engine in my class and I decided to take my head home for the weekend to go ahead and clean it as much as possible b/c I don't have the time at school to be doing everything I want to do w/ it. I'm looking to thoroughly clean the head and then polish the ports. I'm not really looking to port it b/c I don't want to take the time to match port the intake/exhaust manifolds + I care more about just rebuilding the engine than building it up for performance. So please, if anyone has any knowledge to impart then please do so. I'm aware that there is probably info online that I can find and I definately will do reserach BUT I also want in addition to that, any other quick tips or ideas from you guys. thanks a lot.

Carb cleaner and a wire brush. Or you can use a sand blaster. Just tape up the gasket/mating sufaces and the bungs for the vacuum hoses. You can blast the outside clean and then paint it if you want. If you have time+money you could have it coated by Swain Tech. I wouldn't really polish the inside of the manifold if you don't want to do much work. Just clean up the casting lines if there are any and it should be good.

Off topic: I still haven't installed those springs I bought from you. You should do a Koni Yellow GB spring next year so I can run those with the springs. lol
