ok. ill just get right to it and tell yall wat happened.

i started up my car one morning and went to go eat. car ran fine. i stopped, grabbed a bit to eat and got back in the car. car took like 3 seconds of cranking to start, but it started. i drove it around the block and the car started bucking and losing power. i drove through the side streets so i could avoid traffic and the power loss got worse. i came to stop sign, put my car in 1st and tried to go again. but my car died with the slightest touch of the gas. this happened about 5 more times until i decieded to push my car to the side of the road. i let the car cool and tried driving it again. it took even longer to start the car now. (it was cranking for a about 5 seconds before it started). the car felt a LITTLE better and i was able to drive it to my friendz house, but not before it died and bogged numerous times all the way up his hill.

so here at the symptoms:
1) car bogs when throttle is applied and gets worse with the amount of throttle you put into the car.
2) car take about 8 seconds to start the last time it started. but now, it just doesnt start at all!
3) sometimes car dies out if you put it into gear or if u even step on the gas in the slightest

so now the car wont start. and the last time we did get the car to start, if you pressed on the gas even a little, the car would die

my friend and i have been trying to rule out possiblilities. so far though, weve tried testing the fuel pump and fuel filter and both seem good. we havent tried much else yet.

i want to see wat u guys thought could be the problem or if u have ever expreienced anything like this before..

and yes, i did do a search. but majority of other ppls problems are only half of wat im experiencing.

thanks for loooking!

car is a 1995 240sx KA24DE

cheack the MAF, the IACV and check to see if its throwing any codes

would the MAF really make the car not start like that though? i know it would make the car bog out, but would it stop the car from starting? and my car had a bucking problem before so i changed the MAF like a month ago. you think its still the MAF?

and about the IAVC ,last time the car started it idled fine. so idk if that could be it.

check your compression numbers, make sure your timing is correct, and check all vacuum lines and such. Do everything you can to the car thats free before going and buying parts.

try swapping mafs with someone who has the same yr and motor as you, check ur compression, and try looking at the connection to the coolant temp sensor. ive had the same problem before on my s13 KA and I just needed to clean the connections to my coolant temp sensor.

how would a coolant temp sensor keep a car from starting? or make hte car bog if u dont mind me asking..

whenever the coolant temp sensor reads a bubble or an air pocket in the cooling system, that signal is sent to the ecu, and the car tends to bog. I had the combination of it not working before at all and the connections being way too corroded. my car wouldnt start at all sometimes and would run shitty, along with me having low coolant and air in the system. so i replaced the sensor, bled the system and cleaned up the corrosion

thanks guys but i think we found the problem.

MORAL OF THE STORY: never over look the simple things.. IE: spark plugs.

I don't mean to ruin it for you, but replaceing the plug may just hide teh problem. Every car will run better with fresh plugs, The symptoms you described there, I would not have ssuggested plugs at all but wires and rotors along with a vaccuum check. But great to see you fixed it. Don't forget to check you plugs to see what they look like, could be missing something.

ya. thanx guys. we decieded to be safe and we changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. rotor was kinda rusted at the connection point so that could have been part of the problem too. i dont wanna jinx it but the car runs great now! no bogging, starts on a dime. =)

... well always check your plugs. For instance, i bought a car from an auction one time and it ran like shit and needed a clutch but was otherwise nearly flawless. Towed it home and pulled the tranny to change the clutch and finished that up, and started on the motor. Listening to it with the coil wire off sounded a bit odd like low compression. I went to pull the plugs out and they were almost all the way backed out, and you can tell there was major blowby by the amount of crud around the plug. Free fix ftw.
