Starter Help!!

I got my starter out but i cant get the new one lined up. it for a s13.
plz help me asap!

just play w/ it more, move it around, try lifting it up w/ the pinion gear facing downwards then bring that side back up and into the bellhousing.

hey I had to put a starter in my s14 a few weeks ago. make sure that the parts store gave you the right one. The box said it was the right one, but it was indeed the wrong starter....just a thought. (easiest way to check is to compare new starter to the old one to make sure it has the same bolt pattern)
