I've been looking into wideband recently and the entire thing has just confused me. I saw the Zeitronix ZT2, and I was just wondering if wideband such as this is used for informative purposes only, or if you can actually tune the car with this device. And if you can't tune the car with something like this, what would be the best thing to use?

I am looking into buying one too
But not for leaving it in the car, just for tunning and datalogging, again for tunning purposes.
The only bad thing about the zt2 is the price, is way too high!
Looking into Innovative or AEM.
Any pointers or suggestions?

I dont know about the ZT2 specifically, but in general the wideband unit itself doesn't do anything to tune the car. It simply gives you a read out of your AFR, which you use in conjunction with some other method to alter your fuel and spark maps (like an EMS, Apexi PowerFC, Romtune, etc).

They make permenant install wideband o2 setups (usually the brainbox has a simulated ouput for a narrowband o2, which lets you run it with the stock ECU) and then they have portable plug and play units (palm PDA or laptop style) which you must install an additional O2 sensor for (usually in a test pipe)

Some decent wideband o2 products & info here: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products.php
