im new to this whole thing, im more of a Honda guy, but havent even bought my car yet, I was into getting a Civic but i dunno anymore, cos all i see are civics, so i was wonderin if somebody could give me a general idea of what the possibilities are with a 240 SX, all i see are engine codes and i dont know what the hell they mean, but maybe theres a faq about it, i looked in your faqs page but didnt find it helpful, thanks.

the 240SX is a really great car. Its rear drive, so thats the biggest reason i like it. I'll never drive a front wheel car. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'>

my favorite is the true potential of the car...not only in suspension but as far as the SR(not saying it is better than the KAT) engine swap.....but I love my SR20DET(the japanese engine for our car).....it is a MONSTER of an engine compared the the STOCK KA.....just my 2 3/4 cents

Engine Codes + short explaination:
KA24DE = U.S. engine for 240
KA24DET = U.S. engine for 240 + turbo
SR20DET Redtop = S13 (240) Japan Spec Engine
SR20DET Blacktop = S14 (240) Japan Spec Engine
All Japanese sr20det are a 2.0 turbo engine; the s14 sr has a valve timing system. Not goin into great detail...you have the internet...use it....:nervous:
The stock U.S. 240 has 156hp with 160 llbs. of torque.
Possiblities with these cars are badass....turbo the ka, do the japanese engine swap...suspension....lots of shit. Just no ricing damn it... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>

more engine codes:
KA24E: US-spec '89-'90 engine with a single cam and 140hp/152lb-ft.
CA18DET: JDM '89-'90 1.8L DOHC turbo with 175hp.
The S14 SR20DET's variable valve timing system (saying just "valve timing" makes no sense, it's VARIABLE) is just a cam-phasing system like Toyota's VVTi, not a cam-switching system like VTEC.

The SE came w/ alloy wheels, PW, PL, PM, AC etc
The LE came w/ all of the above and leather and some other useless nonperformance oriented stuff.
