where are you wandering to?
if you have found some threads on this, then you should have found the answers to your questions. it is not that difficult. figure out what you don't want and is not essential, then get rid of it.

There are a LOT of things you can do to save weight:
Remove interior
Racing Seat
CF or fiber glass hood
Fibergalss fenders
CF hatch
CF or gutted doors
remove interior sound deadining
remove excess wiring
remove ac
remove heater
remove all interior climate control pipeing
remove ac/heater control unit
remove radio/speakers
remove all excess wiring
shave corner lights and antenna and 3rd brake light + remove wiring
remove front and rear bumper supports (not for street)
remove dust shields on brakes
aluminum drive shaft
remove windshield wipers and nozzles and bottle for washer fluid
Theres about 10000 more things that I'm forgetting, but be resourceful. Look at it, if you need it, keep it, if not, get rid of it.

there is weight in the underbody with the thick anti salt/weather coat painted on. If you want to find a REALLY light S13, find dent sport garage's website, he is down around 2000lbs now.
That guy--(yeah i am not sure of his exact weight)

^What he said. But I think Bill might be below 2000 lbs. I can't wait to see what's next for the Maxi 240

I feel this thread contributes to the growing trend of anorexia in our members. Or is it the fact that some people are to broke to eat putting all their money into their cars. Finally if you seriously wanna save weight #1 check your own weight and see if your about the ideal body weight for your height. Theres nothing better than seeing a 300lb heavyweight driving a fully gutted EG.

lol tru dat, i love being skinny!!
the only downfall is that there are lots of fatties that get all the super slim hotties...i dunno why tho
p.s. im not hating on heavyweights (i wish i was one) except while driving my 240!!

Yeah, I knew from karting that my 210 lbs arse could be lighter but at 6'7" there isn't much room for lightness. Probably the heaviest parts in the car are glass and door bars. There is also 300 more pounds the car could lose if money allowed for more composites. My cage is more extensive than it has to be. If I had money I'm convinced I could get the car to 1700 lbs. Also, I was thinking about the power I'm making at 1.8 bar. On the dyno (where the numbers were achieved) the intercooler was completely heatsoaked even with me constantly spraying it with a cold mist. At VIR, I'd come into the pits after 7 or so laps at 1.5 bar and the intercooler was slightly warm on the hot side and stone cold on the cold side. The radiator as well. I think with good air flow it could be up near 350whp at max boost.
The exhaust is in the process of being relocated so I can make a semi flat undertray (at least the transmission tunnel). A partial (upper half) rear bumper cover, diffuser and front undertray are in the works for the winter downtime. I am also going to try this T5 conversion so I can run a ultra close ratio dogbox for under $2K. If I have enough time this winter I am going to make a tubular chromoly rear subframe. Thats been a dream for a while, Group A type parts for the RS Maxi.
I kinda highjacked this thread, sorry.

WTF TUBULAR SUBFRAME?!?! Damn thats awsome. Theres nothing thats stock on that car any more. I was drolling over your ebrake set up the other day. I really want to do hydrolic ebrake, but I cant find any handles that are very nice, and of course yours is perfect (titanium I believe?)

it cost me probably 45$ including an AP master cyl. The Ti bracket is a suspension piece from a '04 Jaguar F1 car and then the lower Ti handlewas dontaed by Josef, the machinest next door who had spare parts from these RC robots that have machine guns on them and are used in Iraq (seriously, there was a special on discovery a couple nights ago about them). The delrin is just 1" stock. The clevis is from ace hardware.

I know its not to complicated, but I just dont have the means, so I'm probably just going to buy the one from cncbrakes.com, and cut the handel down or something.
