I am new to the board, I currently own a 93 Prelude Vtec but I am growing tired of front wheel drive, I need to slide!

My question is....if I purchase a 95-96 240SX 5spd and get a SR20DET from a s13 installed with all the bolt on goodies (BOV, Exhaust, Timer, Clutch etc.) will it be worth the money spent to make it happen?

Just to slide.... Man I could ass drag that prelude around all night and have a blast.
I would recommend finding someone that already has 240sx modded or not and see if you can play passanger will they power slide(most cannot drift) around corners to see if you really like it or not.
Also if you just interested in sliding(??) you might want to think of getting another car that is cheaper incase you wreck.. like 83-85 corrolla, early 80s trans ams... stuff like that... check out club4ag.com, might be more your budget....

Funny thing is that people state side are buying 240's cause there big in japan... well in comes the whole quanity issue... see in japan that car is everywhere.. parts are cheap and easy to get. Plus it does have a great chassie.... but you see my point &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>

We can't tell you if it'll be worth it to you... &nbsp;Keep in mind how much it's going to cost and think about it.

You won't get your return on invenstment if you decide to sell in a few years, though. &nbsp;Modified cars have bad resale, and it'll be even worse when 240SXs go out of style.

If you plan on swapping right out, just get the cheapest car you can find with the convenience options you want.. there are always high-mileage cars or cars with engine problems that people looking for a stock daily driver would avoid.

If all you want it for is to slide then juss keep the KA. It is not liek you are going to go on a track and start racing people. So the speed of your car will nto matter. Only if its RWD or 4WD. You might as well juss buy any RWD car and do some suspension work. Like someone said before (sorry forgot ur name) buy something real cheap, just in case.

But it is really pointless in America to drift except for th occasinal cheap thrill. In japan they have actual contest, on technique and such. Over here there is the occasional drift day in Cali, and some other places. I say go into AutoX instead of drifting. You can always buy a cheap RWD corrola and drift in that. Juss be safe about it and find a track or sumin. I have been told "Don't drift in AuitoX". Its a no no, and you'll end up losing either way.

Thanks for the replies, as far as getting a cheap car to slide in...that isn't nessecary! &nbsp;I have had 3 years of practice in my '94 Z28 that dyno'd at 546hp, but I sold it 6 months ago on E-bay and I miss rear whel drive. &nbsp;I had no other cars so I had to drive it in the rain and snow and had my fair share of sliding around. &nbsp;I just wondered if putting a SR20DET is worth the money to the owner (when done and first drove it...did you feel like you had been cheated of $$$ or did you love it?)
