I have a 95 240SX SE and I am having problems where the tranny connects to the flywheel. Im not sure what the correct names for it but the shaft from the tranny to the shaft that connects to the flywheel and crankshaft. I just replaced my clutch, flywheel, pilot bearing and throwback bearing and now im stuck with putting the tranny back in. I read somewhere that told me to flip the tranny 180 degrees and i tried that but still it would lock up or jam up in the bellhousing ive tried rotating it almost every way possible. Ive also jacked up the engine a bit to give it a bit of an angle. Still cant get it in... well does anyone have any tips for me to do this... thanks in advance

rotating the transmission is the best way to do it, Wiggle that bad boy inthere untill you feel the teeth on the drivehaft slip in. I would recommend having 2-3 people to help you. Its a lot easier when friends are helping, so you can strategicaly pin point the exact alignment.

remember to torque the bellhousing at the pound.
and x cross, when your bolting in the bell housing bolts.

( if your exhaust is in the way, you might want to try unbolting it and dropping it down from the cat or so)

If all else fails, double check to make sure the clutch is aligned straight.

I fought with my transmission for a couple hours before I pulled the clutch off and put it back on. Then the tranny slid right in.

yah, you gotta slip it on right side up, then rotate it 180(starter bump pointing at ground) and slide it on all the way

Took me like 3 hours of fucking around with that damn gearbox trying to get it to slide in perfect. Just keep trying, wiggle the back around, it helps to put the trans in gear and stick the driveshaft in and turn it as you push in. This way you will know when the teeth of the spline are inside the clutch.

rotating is the best option, another option is to just attach the output shaft so u can spin the teeth, and start to thread all your bolts in, this has worked for me twice

Unbolt the downpipe, allowing the engine to rock back against the firewall. Gives you all the room you'll ever need.

Its a common problem to fight with spline alignment, i would loosen the cluch pressure plate and make sure the alignment tool slides in and out like butter, then tighten it down and double check it. If you feel even the slightest resistance the tranny will fight you.

Put the tranny in gear and rotate like said abive, also you can turn the crank while trying to work it in, But as you can see from all the post, keep working at it it some times is difficult.

Make sure you try having one person pull down on the down pipe. Thats how i got mines in when it was stuck. I tried everyway possible, but after I had someone pull on the downpipe it slipped right in.
