interesting, any one try to build one? you basically use an lcd sscreen for the projector pieces..

Man if anyone has an LCD monitor laying aroud you should try it. It would be cool to see if it works.

Yah im tempted.. i like the idea of using a small lcd screen like 7' to make it compact but the quality is effected. i could use a 15' but the box size for these gets soo huge.. but im sure the screen quality would be nice.
i wanna use it for pc gaming and dvds.. i wonder how the response time will affect the visuals. i know cheap lcd screens wont have the best response time.

I plan on building a media room (fansy name I use to my wife when it's really just a video game room) in my lower level next year and am still up in the air on what type of TV/Projector I'm going to use. IGN had a good review of a projector that's only $1000. But something liek this might not be bad either.

Bought my InFocus X1 projector with 60" screen for $500. They can be found cheap on ebay. I don't see how that projector kit could produce any picture of quality. But my projector was the best purchase I made in a very long time.
