Wassup ppl, i know not too many ppl talk bout puttin a s15 into their 180sx/ s13 silvia but on the option video vol 34.. It was done wid the 180sx and the silvia s13. I think the only modification that needs to be done is the rear suspention member. Which the whole rear section, The engine went in like a snap like most sr20det do. But some ppl says its impossible or some major modification to the engine bay which isnt true... I jus thought it would be nice to share the info i saw on the opt. video 180sx/silvia super tuning.

i never heard of any problems in swapping the s15 engine into a 180 or s13, the only thing that i heard correct if i'm wrong on this please, is that the speed sensor or something of that sort is in a different location?

Actually I think swapping the S15 engine into an s13 or s14 wouldn't be a bad idea. If you want above 250whp it cost about as much doing the same thing with an S13 engine. The engine costs about 2000 more but you get bigger injectors and a better turbo to start off with. Also the 6spd would be nice and is worth paying a little more.

Of course if your power goals are 300whp or higher, you might as well use the S13 engine anyway, because you'd need a bigger turbo and injectors regardless, and the 5spd is better at dealing with more power.

james- i think the only thing i remember that you have to do different is get the S15 drive shaft. its longer iirc than the S13/14 one.

someone on freshalloy installed an S15 SR in the 240SX. the speed sensor is actually in the differential. the guy was complaining about poor gas mileage

It's a sports car not just that it's an s15 blacktop. I get like 250mi/tank at 10psi. He needs to just suck-it-the-fuck-up lol. Are there any pics of his engine bay? I would love to see it

I've never heard anything about the S15's SR20 being any harder to install than the S14s... which is only slightly more complicated than replacing an S13 KA with an S13 SR.

Perhaps it's just an assumption someone (people) have made since the S15's so much newer? In any case it's been done long ago since the early days of the S15 I'm sure.

Lol thanks for updating us on the current situation in Video Option land....... considering that video was filmed at least a year and a half ago....

"Some people say its impossible?" Who the hell are these people?! "Major modification to the engine bay?!" It's the same motherfucking engine! Let's see going from a SR20DET to a hmm... SR20DET... I bet your engine bay is gonna have some REAL size problems there... 2.0 to 2.0... sure there are some drive train issues but it's not like anyone with the money for an S15 SR20det would be worrying about not getting a clip with drive train parts.

Anyways sorry to be rude but this post doesn't exactly say anything besides that you saw a car on an option video.
