I still can't believe it but we beat the ASM S2000 and Formula Atlantic driver Andreas Wirth by two seconds in the final timed runs to earn the RWD Unlimited win. They have run a 57 second Tsukuba lap so it is very encouraging for the development of the 240RS Maxi. Matt Koestner did such a good job tuning the Autronic in this car. The power delivery and engine/turbo in general really is unbelievable. There is a good amount of tuning in the boost control that we need to do but it will take some time. We ran a maxiumum of 1.6 bar after trying 2 bar for a few laps with little traction so we found that 1.6 dry and 1.4-1.5 wet was the best. In the dry qualifying runs we ran a best of 2:14 (less than .5 seconds behind Wirth and the ASM S2000) and on sunday in the wet we ran a best of 2:26 to Wirth's 2:28. The rain was a downer but the event overall was very professional and well run. Randy Grube and Paramax have an excellent organization.

Here are some photos of the car, the awesome Hoosier rain tires donated to me by the HRPWorld.com GT3 RS Porsche team, and of me with Masa Takizawa of Garage HRS. I am a long time fan of his and he seemed very interested in my Nissan (it was awesome to see him peeking into my engine bay). I had my friend Ron translate for me as he doesn't speak many word of English and I don't speak Japanese.

Downforce here we come.

That's wicked, Bill.
Any chance that thing has a diffuser in it's future? The ass end just looks so strange as-is.

BIG CONGRATS to Bill and DSG crew!!! Was great meeting you guys! The car was absolutely awesome. I really liked the stands you guys built to hold the car up, those were the shiz. Had fun with your guy in the Scubi over at the Lap Battle too, he had a fun ride on Sunday! Hope someone caught that on video or at least a couple pics. Anway, CONGRATS again!!!

Thanks guys. I met so many Nissan people this weekend and really had a great time despite the rain. The oil leak was from a tiny crack in the -8 pump to filter line.
The next step for the car is a full aero package, front and rear. It was the original plan, it just takes a lot of time. We have an engineer friend who is currently working in fluid dynamics and has a plan for the future of the car's aero. I know the car has at least 5 seconds in it at a track like VIR.
I will upload some in-car clips later on. Whenever I saw the spectators at turn three I felt like I had to throw it a little sideways:duh:
