View Full Version : Retrofit Project: Mercedes SL500 Bi-Xenons to S14 Kouki

I got a killer deal on a SL500 headlamps w/ bi-xenon setup ;) - and no they're not stolen. One of my boys is a mechanic at the benz dealership...and short he thought the headlamps were garbage and sold the clients new ones, when in fact the original ones were fine, but just needed reprogramming.

anyways, i know there are a couple of tutorials out there, but do you guys want a write up? if not, it'll save me time so no harm no foul

i probably wont start on them till this later on this week, just so i can plan everything accordingly.

Bi-xenons are usually larger projectors. Make sure you make the proper measurements.

Talk to AJ, i know hes done shiet like this before. Also i know theres a specific forum out there that talks about nothing else but coverting HIDs

Mah bad, S14DB, I know hes done a couple retrofits using OEM BMW HIDs

There's a thread on HIDplanet on how to retrofit Single Xenon s2k projectors into the kouki housing, but nothing on the SL500 projectors. I forget if they're the Bi-xenon E46 or the E55.

Anyway, a write up would be nice. I don't think one's been made on a Bi-x projector before.

I definately would like to see a write up on retro-fitting the bi-xenons into the s14. I have a set of BMW E46 bi-xenons and have been through hidplanet and all sorts of forums but there is nothing that is really straight forward on hooking them up. This write up would be very helpful.

Hopfully they are the same size as the halogen kouki projectors. | saw some X5 projectors retroed in a zenki and they looked rather freakish. LOL

actually, from eyeballing it, they're about the same diameter, but i believe the projector assembly itself it smaller, the SL500 ones that is

I still have to take apart the SL500 headlights, but I'm still waiting on the wiring diagrams

Make a write-up, I'm interested to see what you end up crafting. I have a write-up on my retrofit (Bosch single xenon projectors), but its nothing like the write-up NRG created with his S2K projector retrofit.
