some questions on a turbo upgrade ...

okay so im not to familiar with big turbos i recently had a s15 bb turbo sold it cause i want more power @ the moment .. im currently building the head and need to buy a turbo so yeah ..... any help/suggestions would be great!

im looking @ a t3/t4 60 trim and i did some research and looks like yeah the turbo is big but spols to late and a bb turbo would be better ... and its good for hmmm 450whp aroun there?


k these are the turbos that got my attention

3071r it looks great and all price is around what 1,300 around there? and it can handle like hmmmm... 400whp maybe a lil more right? how many psi's can it max out at? ... and will it bolt on to a stock manifold?

3076r ... lmk what u guys think about this one .. i think well looks a lil better than tha 71r but lmk what u guys think and also can i bolt it on to stock mani....


the only reasone i want to bolt on to a stock mani for now is because iv spent all my money on head work/labor/Ems/injectors(740cc)/ and so on so im trying to get something bigger than 2871r but that can bolt on to the stock mani if possible...

o yeah my goals for the car is for now haha .. 370 - 450 whp... a lil of both drag racing and drifting ... maybe just maybe a lil more drag than drifting ... so yeah ... as stated any help would be great guys thanx!

okay it was stupid of me not to have done some research before posting so i did all ready .. and got some answer so i think as i see some people do use stock exh manifold.. if i read correct... but do need a custom dumb pipe and down pipe right? but if possible lmk witch one u guys thingk is better for my goals would be great 3071r or 3076 r ... and can u guys just verify that i can use a stock manifold with either one ....

Actually, they do make a t2 flange 3071r.. but its internally gated. And AFAIK, they dont make a t2 t3/t4, hence the name (in reference to the flange). Your best option if you want to stay bottom mount is probably a 2871r and with your power goals, the 86ar. You probably wont see 400hp easily, but if you want to stay bottom mount, its your easiest option. Some people have welded a t3 flange on the stock mani, but you have to change the location of it because the bigger turbos will hit the side of the block. Hope this helped.

Save your money and buy a better manifold. No point in buying a turbo that you mite change later once you upgrade your mani. Just my two cents!

this turbo is i believe good for 400whp if im correct... and will bolt up to a stock manifold ... and i dont exacly have a stock manifold but its a bottom mount with a T25 flange so yeah ....

also can someone tell me the difference between the first link that matt89 posted and the link to the alsmost same turbo i posted ....

nm the diff. is one is 86 a/r and the one i put is 64 so yeah i just ordered the 64... do u guys think its an okay choice for my power goals .... and besides custome dump/down pipe ... what else am i gona need? what kind of wga? can i use one off a T28? or am i gonna need a (tail/tial)


better question .. do guys think ill reach that goal with this setup
