I was going to buy a SVO turbo for next to nothing so i did a little research on mustang SVO.  In 1986 they had 205hp and 240 Torque.  Thats pretty fast for a 2.2 if you ask me. Just wanted to give the car props, has anyone ever driven one before?

dunno i've never driven one, but im guessing they weigh more than a silvia? the CA made 175hp out of a 1.8liter engine, just shy of 100hp per liter, the s13 SR redtop made 205 out of 2.0 liters just over 100hp per liter, the ford made 93.18 per liter.. its all relative. how cheap is cheap? CAs can be had for 1200$ plus shipping, and installation of course. if i were you i'd drop that in your 89 instead of getting the ford.. too each their own.

240 torque.  Fox body mustangs don't look like they wiegh all that much

ok well its a 2.3 liter engine. it says that right in the link you posted. i was wrong on the hp to liter ratio because i just looked at the 2.2. so the correct hp/liter ratio for a SVO turbo 2.3 liter is 89.13

haha, hp/L, who cares <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

The Mustang SVO was a great car, and no, Fox bodies don't weigh much, less than 3000lb for most versions.

The SVO was an awesome car, but it sold poorly because it cost a lot more than the 5.0 and didn't offer any more straight line speed, only vastly better handling and dynamics. &nbsp; The suspension was tweaked through and through, it's no garden variety 'stang.

my friend used to have one, it was in really good condition too and i think he sold it for about $3,000 last year and got an accord.

they arent that fast, i drove it a few times. &nbsp;its pretty rare, ive only seen 2 in person, but its not your typical loud-ass muscle mustang, you know? its different.

obviously he cared, because he said 205hp out of a 2.2 engine, thats pretty fast.

he was comparing power to displacement right there. so i compared it with the SR and CA, which are relevant to this board don't you think?

pay attention to the topic at hand

its a 2.3, basically a turbo'd ranger motor. sweet puppy, i've seen quite a few in the 450 hp "streetable" state of tune. a unique and welcome variation on the the fox body stang if u ask me...
