View Full Version : looking for the volks wit a tempered lip

I need some help. I have searched over and over again and I can not find these rims I saw on a thread. Someone posted pictures of a set of Volk rims with a tempered lip. And I was wondering if anyone knows what model I am talking about? I have searched all over the inter net an this site an can not find them =(

57 pro, 57s pro, team daytona have a new "stainless jacket" lip. The "burnt tip" finish is optional. iirc swift s15 has team daytonas with that finish.

it took me a minute to figure out what you meant by tempered

but yeah, at the moment we cant get the rainbow lipped wheels in the US yet

still working on it

I'm sure there is, if you want to be the Mayor of LameTown.

Although getting the color changing effect would probably be difficultto duplicate without the real thing. Just keep an eye on Rota. I'm sure they'll knock it off eventually. :cj:

They used to have that crazy finish on paintball guns too expensive and hard to do to get a good finish. I think its dipped and electrical currents or something are passed thru the metal to get the finish If you search aurora chrome on google it might show the process.

the rainbow lip is a stainless steel shell thing that they heat up so it changes color and then pressed onto the wheel. i dont think they sell it to consumers
