R32 Headlight Into Zenki - Need Wiring Help

Hey Everybody,

I'll probably get flamed for this being I'm a Noob but I've searched for hours and can't find this posted anywhere! Does anyone know where I can find step by step instructions on wiring in the R32 Headlights into the s14 zenki? I know this has been done a thousand times and there are tons of old posts about the fitment and other conversion options but I need to know how you wire them in... Even if you can just point me to a site or link of where to look that'd be great (or Keywords to search this site). Also tryng to wire in the R32 corners with it. Thanks.

Makes sense but I have no electrical skills whatsoever. I can't remember totally but the plugs from the R32's obviously don't match up with the s14 ones so they have to be rewired. I'm guessing the plugs from the R32 lights need to be cut off, then the ones from the s14 spliced on. I don't have the lights with me (I'm at work) but from what I remember there are more wires (I think 5 or 6 total) coming out of the back of the R32 lights and only 4 (again I think) on the S14. I'll try and find a local electric tech and see if they can help.

its not that hard. all you'll really need is common sense, a test light, and patience. do it yourself and gain some knowledge instead of paying someone to do it.

Those are great opinions. Not mine though. You guys should hook up and write an opinion post about it, not steal mine.... besides Kouki you already have those nice lookin lights. Not to speak for everyone but the S15 conversion is awesome and I think people do it cause it's easier and cheaper than importing one from Japan....

The headlight has 2 functions: low-beam and high-beam. The Silvia has integrated foglights, but the foglight is not part of the headlight circuit.

For the stock wiring, you need to figure out 3 wires: high power, low power, and ground. Do this for both sides.

Go to the R32 headlight. Figure out if it's a single bulb with dual filament, or two bulbs each with a single filament. This is the tricky part. You need to figure out which wire runs to the high beam and which runs to the low beam for the R32. This may take some experimentation if you can't see the circuit well enough. You may have to disassemble the back of the housing to see how the wires run.

If it's two bulbs, then it's simple. The higher wattage bulb gets the high power, and the low wattage bulb gets the low power.

Generally for JDM cars, the low beam bulbs are on the outside, and the high beam bulbs are on the inside.

Match up the appropriate high/low power wire to the appropriate wire on the R32 light. Solder, shrink wrap, and tape up with vinyl electrical tape.


Should take you about 10-15 minutes if you're good with soldering.

^ yah, weird It should be a very straight forward process, I did 96zenki to 99silvia in like 20 minutes

You only need to connect the high power and low power to the bulb(s). You can ground the bulb(s) by running a wire from the ground pin straight to the chassis.

So in reality, you only need to mate 2 wires from the body harness to the headlights.
