Ok guys my car is really wierd. It's an 89' and the tag says 1/89 so i'm guessing january. The car is not an SE but it has power everything, a spoiler, the extra front lip spoiler and auto. The car sat low and rode smooth. It had just stock looking springs but it sat lower than any other 240's I'd seen. I bought 2" lowering springs and the car went down like 1/2" Heres the best part, there is no top end limiter. The car is supposed to shut off but it doesn't. My speedometer will just keep going past 115. I've had the speedo all the way around to the odometer. Not only that but all I did was cut the muffler off and this thing does mid/high 7's 0-60 with an automatic. My freind has a vtec prelude and I walked all over him.

Someone probably debadged your SE.

Also Automatics don't have speedlimiters. Just rev-limiters. The 5-speeds had the Speedlimiters. I did about 130 in my 90 matic.

i feel you man, i have a 93 base, but i have power everything, cruise control as well. but then, the thing that gave it away is there's no spoiler

Um I've only hit that revlimiter one time cause I accidently popped into neutral when upshifting. But it was like 8 grand or something rediculous. What about the springs and sitting so low. It also has rather large looking sway bar in the back... Oh and I measured that speed out one day and it was like 155. Granted there is inaccuracy there but still... And I still wasn't at redline and it was still pulling slowly.

All 89 Fastbacks were SE.

But there was an SE Power convenience package, with power locks, power windows, power mirrors, etc ....

It wasn't until 1991 when the Fastback came in the "Base" "SE" and "LE" models.

I highly doubt your doing 150 anything in your 240 without at least some VISIBLE mods. Is there an aftermarket exhaust? or anything? If you want to see what all the stock stuff looks like on a 92 SE check out my car iin the link below. I got TONS of pictures. She is BONE stock.

Everything under the hood is stock like I said. The only thing I did was take a sawzall to the muffler so I don't have one anymore. It's kinda loud but sounds meaner than ####. The only thing I haven't checked is the comp. Maybe the guy did put lowering springs and a comp upgrade. Only thing is the struts were all still factory nissan ones. So he woulda had to put lowering springs on the stock struts which is kinda dumb. As for the speed I know for a fact it will do well over 125. My friend was driving my now current truck and I was driving my car. We were going down the interstate and both looked at each other and got on it. I just stayed right along side up to 100 then 120 until the truck didn't really wanna go much faster. It's kinda like trying to push a big arse refridgerator up the road. Aerodynamics weren't on his side. But he pegged his speedo at 120 and went a little more. Then I stomped it and pulled and was long gone. I used to come through Ft. Bragg near my house late at night and just run about 100 all the way through. About 2 outta 3 times an MP would be sitting and waiting. He'd pull out and flip on his blue lights and I'd punch it and never see him again. BTW they drive impallaSS's. I also burned 3 Florida state troopers down near ocala. first one turned around to come after me so I sped up and over the next hill 2 more were sitting waiting for me and then pulled out. I just floored it for like 5 minutes up this loooooong straight away. I honestly didn't know the speedometer would go that far. But anyway after about 3 hills I didnt' see them anymore.

I'm calling BS on this....you outrun Impalla SS on a regular basis and other cop cars....no way in #### are you doing that

ok guys as much as i'd like to believe that i can out run cops in their impallas and crown vics i think i'm gonna have to agree with alchemist here....i drive a stock 89 240 (actually i have kyb struts w/ some nice but bald yokohamas so i guess it's not stock) and whenever i get pulled over those cops are all over my ass before i can finish praying that he didnt see me.....i dunno just a thought

Well... The cops could have deemed the situation as "dangerous to passing motorists" and not gave chase. In Florida, where I live, the officer is responsible if you get into an accident running from them, so the general rule they follow is that they won't chase faster than 20 over the posted speedlimit. Unless of course you robbed a bank or murdered someone...
But on I-75, the cops will only go 90 mph, 20 over, if you won't pull over.
Just a thought

I dont believe an sohc engine could be going 0-60 in anything under 8 seconds, chopped muffler or not
the stock time for a good shifter is somewhere around 9 isnt it? Better make sure you dont have a ca under the hood or something...otherwise its bs

Nope, stock KA under the hood. I did have kyb agx's, jamex racing springs and 17's with good tires on them. Honest to god I used to outrun the impalla SS's on a regular basis. Also had a guy in a caddy with the northstar V-8 try and run me through the base and smoked his pants off too. I love it when people doubt me on this stuff. If anyone doubts any of this call Nick O'connor (910) 949-2814 Brandon Duncan (910) 281-3725 or Derrick Franks at (979) 676-0559. They have all been in the car with me when I've smoked up some impallas.
