time to change em out, i forgot what ones i was running, regular copper ngks that where special ordered thru carquest.. but anways, Usually the local auto shops dont have anything in stock and only carry select brands. Know of any denso/ngk/champion/bosch plugs that work good on these cars? Instead of the usual NGK iridiums etc. Just somethin my local napa or autozone/kragens might have that I could just pick up without ordering.

I was running these NGK PFR5ES per this article http://www.royalpurple.com/dragsport1/ds1p1.html

and those took a few days to special order (not everyone around me carries NGK)

think that crosses over to anything Denso??

Picked up my NGKs for SR20 @ Napa in Rancho Cucamonga. Call around I think Napa stores carry more off-the-wall parts.

Hey Sky any idea what plugs u r running?? should i go iridiums?

iridiums in a turbo application is not ideal. They will have a shorter life and is not worth the money you pay for the short life they will live. Go with copper. I see that you are running heatrange 5 plugs, those are pretty hot for tuuurrbooo.

Another recommendation would be the 6097 ngk. If your local parts store cant get them in 2 hours they suxorz.

Cheap ass NGK standards. Then again, my car sucks so you might want to run something a little more "premium".

so its pretty much the ngk BCPR7ES huh.. Denso crossover Q22PR-U
and autolite 3922.

any full part number on the 6097 ngk or would I jus say those 4 digits and they should know what I am talking about?

they should be able to look it up by 6097 and cross reference it. I would adviste against anything autolite, you dont have a oldmobile man. I would also advise against platinum/iridium in a turbo car they will not last as long as they claim and with the way I assume you drive that will also shorten the lifespan. Dont buy into gimmics either.

I only run BCPR7ES-11s, at only $1.25 per pop. I usually change my sparkplugs every other oil change. Gap em between 27-30 depending on how hot the weather is.

this is how i do it too. i rather replace cheap ones about every 6 months than buy expensive ones and replace those every year or so

Is there a parts plus in your area? Try looking them up and see if you can find them in your area. When I used to work at an auto store we got our parts from a parts plus warehouse(10 minutes from our store location) and they have the main warehouse in Anihiem(sp?). It took us about an hour to get parts at worse, next day.

Check with them and see if they have a local warehouse and usually they will get their parts in a couple hours. Or even a napa store.

False.

Sky and I are running 6097 plugs. they're already pre gap for sr20 motors.
All napa has them in stock.

Going to upgrade to denso iridiums soon.

i know this is a 3 year thread, but i figure its better than cluttering up the forums.

can anybody suggest over the counter spark plugs for the sr? most of info WAS great, but most part # are discontinued!

i searched multiple threads and found this one the most informative, just needs some updating.

i ended up picking up some BOSCH PLATINUM +2 (4301), they are for the 91 sentra 2.0L dohc, these plugs have 2 prongs that float aside the diode and cant be gaped , unlike a regular plug that has the prong on top of the diode.
they were like 5 buck a pop, but im just concerned that it might harm my sr20,

many thanks.

bkr7es-11 is a ~.043 gap. The '11' is 1.1 mm.

Just buy a bkr7e. Why buy a pregapped plug if you are going to change the gap so much?
