Every now and then when I give it 20-30% throttle i hit full boost real quick. Would that mean I have a leak? It doesn't stumble at all. It seems like the boost is escaping, but wouldn't that cause some hesitation? I haven't checked it out yet but where would be a good spot to check first? I'm thinking it might be the elbow. Anybody else experience this?
um.. size of your turbo and at what rpm? If the motor holds boost then there isn't a leak; or shouldn't be. Boost = pounds per square inch.
at 3600 RPM i can fully spool 12psi with 30% throttle. It doesn't hold it there unless i open the throttle more.

t-25. i'm currently running 11 lbs of boost. when i'm cruising on the freeway at around 3000 RPM giving maybe 15% throttle (according to safc2) and boost at 0, giving a little bit more gas around 20% will spool all the way up. it doesn't do it all the time so i'm gonna continue monitoring it.

So your having partial throttle full boost? Do you have a manual boost controller?

On the wrx a lot of people would complain that with the manual boost controllers they would get full boost on partial throttle. I would suggest a electronic one so you wont be running too lean and it should be more linear.

How would an electronic boost controller be any different than a MBC? If anything, a leaking MBC would keep the w/g open more = less boost everywhere. Makes no sense to me. :(
crap! holy thread resurrection, batman!
