So after reading up on the NRG quick release and decicing to get one...I also found that it would benefit me to get a shortened hub also made by NRG (which I recently read somewhere)......cause I ain't a fan of driving with the wheel under my ninnies.
SO, my question is this....anyone know of a place that sells it yet...cause I heard it was a recently released item?

It was released last week. I was able to pick up 6 of them. I put one on my car and I like it more then my old momo one. Let me know if you are interested.

should fit the s14 if it can be modified the same way the Momo one can. cut the tabs off for the indicator switch, and notch it. nothing too involved for a dremel and a cut off wheel.
I'd be interested in one, but probably just going to either make one myself or modify my Momo.

I just didn't like the way the steering wheel was up to my chest with the quick release. Also, the momo one has some rubber around it with 3 metal pieces holding it. The NRG quailty is much better then the momo one.

please dont tell people that momo hubs are inferior to NRGs. just sell your hubs and be done with it.

IMO the new nrg quick release system is pretty damn good. Nice solid and no play. I like how the hub is solid but too short for me.

I had the momo hub and now I have the NRG hub. I am talking from my experience. The design of the NRG is better then the momo one.

Have you seen the NRG hubs in person?

In terms of "design", the NRG is hardly better.
The Momo was designed with safety in mind. In an impact the Momo allows the wheel to "collapse" on a severe impact, to prevent serious injury or decapitation and such. The NRG (and other likewise solid adaptors) turns the steering wheel into a fairly solid blunt object with which to crush or maim you should your chassis crumple enough. And yes, your stock steering wheel has the same basic function of collapsing should the load be great enough.
It's not so big of a deal with a 5pt harness and a roll cage, though. Otherwise, the Momo makes more sense to run in a street car. Honestly, there's no reason to use a quick release if your seat has sliders, unless you're just too big to fit in a plus size seat.....
That said, I'm probably going to swap to an NRG.... but then again, my street car has like 10 air bags.....

I just want to thank you for writing an intelligent post instead of making comments out of thin air. I didn't really think about the safety stand point of the momo hub. Performance wise, I like the design of the solid hub compared to the safety design. I guess it would come down to which perspective you view is more important.

FYI, Momo Spa of Italy filed a for a European patent on their collapsible hub way back in 1981, number EP 39404 A1.

I have decided to go ahead and go with the Works Bell short hub along with the NRG gen 2 quick release. Thanks to all those who replied.
