Fried 02 sensor wire (from harness)

Just like the title says, the wire kissed my turbo outlet, and now the outer layer of wire is charred... Just wondering how to fix it; I would assume cut and splice, but how? theres the outer wire and the inner wire, and theyre not like regular wires, but i would assume i could just twist the outer wires into one wire and then solder that to a regular wire, and the same for the inner wires...

The outer wire is just a shielding, cut it off if you want. Just figure out a way to add some kind of heat protection on the wires. Make it longer and try to keep it as far away as possible from the manifold.
