sup guys. i guess my car hasn't been a priority at all lately, so i'm not up to date with things like this.. but yeah.
right now i've got an hks hi-power tip with just custom 3" piping... but now i want a new one.. one that's sleeperish.. something similar to the rsr ex mag.. do you guys know of any.. or recommend something like this? it's just beacuse my car looks pretty "normal" and i don't want to get pulled over just for an exhaust, then get my hood popped too.
let me know!

There is an exhaust that kinda meets your req. it's called the RS-R ExMag. lol
Other people usually go custom for a quiet, stock-looking exhaust. There was a thread recently with some suggestions for the parts used on a quiet/sleeper custom exhaust.

You could get something with butterfly valves but that only makes it quiet at low rpms. I test drove a ZO6 today =))

ya but dual 3" is wider and does not look as stealth as dual 2.5 pipes closer together. Magnaflow FTW. I got your back Neme.
Plus what really counts is the size of the inlet. Which should be 3" and is on the Magnaflow and the Magnaflow is straight through. :D
3.25 ST May piping with Magnaflow dual FTW!!!

I got the same stuff as ThatGuy, different tips, and mine sits a little further under my bumper, very much on purpose:

3" piping from (and including a new) cat back please ignore that my old muffler did a number on my bumper:

guy that did it, whose head you can see in the left corner here, went behind himself and went over the welds with hi-temp silver, apparently he cares what his work looks like:

BRM exhaust, nuff said, looks exactly like stock and is quiet, but has a good tone to it. I know a guy selling one, LMK if you are interested.

SO THATGUY,
Is that a magnaflow? What resonator/cat if any are you running, what size piping, and are you satisfied?

Barry and Philip are using DynoMax( corrected by Neme). Neme and I use Magnaflow. Magna flow mufflers the tips are closer together looking more stock. Though Barry and Philips exhausts are close to stock.

All the information about my exhaust is listed in the link in my profile and all the pieces can be purchased through Summit Racing. I am very satisfied with it.
Evan, you are correct. Dynomax for PHLIP and I.:werd:

In agreement with Nemo, my mufflers are Dynomaxx, and this is the resonator:

the rear one is this guy:

... and yes, the prices have gone up a spot in the last 6+ months since I got mine

Thank you driftfreaQ and PHLIP!!!!
DriftfreaQ-Sorry if this is a repeat, but can you quickly go over your entire setup? I got the magnaflow muffler, but what size/model and what if any resonator/cat are you using?
Are you satisfied with it?
To anyone with dynomax-Is there a reason you went with the turbo and not the race muffler or the "ultra flow"?
thanks for the time/help.

I am pleased with mine, and apparently my friends are pleased with the sound as well, I would do it again the same way.
I went with the muffler I chose for 2 reasons, cost and sound, I could have gone with one of the others, and looking over their design, they would have been twice as loud and cost more than a custom exhaust might have been worth.

"TWICE AS LOUD"
So the "strait through" design with a glasspack type of filling should sound better than the "flowmaster style" with the baffles, but no packing?
again, sorry for all the questions, and THANK YOU for your time and patience. I am about to order a new muffler(leaning towards magnaflow) to replace my busted up Apexi can(which sounded GREAT).
I'm also na right now but i'm REALLY considering just jumping from the 2.5 to 3 inch piping. I guess a semi-recent dyno showed that the 3 inch piping made more power on the stock ka.(surprised me)

Remember that you will ALWAYS sacrifice something to gain something. Larger piping will present a gain, at the cost of increased noise. Same applies to materials and/or methods to deadening sound. Kill me in the face with technology, but at the end of the day, I REFUSE to think anything claiming greater gains CAN be quieter in a similar application, feel me?
