Pictures themselves are not bad, however the site they came from is not PG-13. I have deleted the link. You can try rehosting the pics somewhere like www.imageshack.us and try again.

That would be called functional obsolescence. I do not see how a car could make it up that without scraping at the bottom of the driveway and teeter-tottering at the top.

that's retarded, good luck if your brakes fail while backing out. it'll be cool if they had just built and underground garage instead.

well atleast there is a driveway to park a car....but the resale value must be horrid.
Maybe they own flatbed trucks and they find it to be easier unloading cars into the garage this way since they car will be unloaded at never even level. *shrugs*

That has to be midwest. There is no dumbass develpers and contractors that would allow this elevation change from the street..

my dad's driveway was just like that when he had my car back in 00-01 in Kansas.. Except it was more round... car was factory 4x4 status and the exhuast tip would hit lol. i was like 16years old stalling the car up the driveway lol.. you had to gain speed to ramp up it

dont be hating on the midwest. It wouldve been more sensible to build a trilevel home with the garage underneith the house......what state license plate is that on the suv??

Evidently the houses had to be above the local flood plane, and the city didn't want to raise the streets. So.... retarded assed driveways are the result.
!Zar!

Funny thing is, I'd doubt a stock car could make it up that driveway straight on.

Haha! Yes I have actually gotten my 240 stuck in my ex girlfriends driveway in the ice before so I feel your pain!
and that driveway is just plain absolutely retarded. Even if you dont park in the garage,it would be such a PITA to try to haul tools up that incline and walk up it,fucking tards:duh:

Wow, if that's the case that city's planning and zoning department needs to have their heads checked.
But then again, this is America, where the developers are king, and everyone feels like they have a right to build what they want, where they want.
Shitty construction FTL!!!

There no way you can miss that when looking to rent or buy. If the person looking to buy that house dont mind, the he just have to figure it out himself.

that has to be a developer. no private or custom builder would allow that. there are so many other ways they could have done that to make a usable garage, it had to be some developer just hammering out cheap cookie cutter homes that they didn't think everything through. it probably decreased the home's value by half. i bet 90% of buyers would tell the real estate agent to keep driving.
and don't be bashing on the midwest, there are idiots everywhere.
the second one you posted isn't bad, it's steep but the transition is gradual enough that most cars could get up it easily. if it is a mountainous area, people are used to it.
Evidently the houses had to be above the local flood plane, and the city didn't want to raise the streets. So.... retarded assed driveways are the result.
even still, they could have moved the house back, changed the layout so the garage is farther from the street, moved the sidewalk closer to the street or raised it, or put in a basement garage. retarded assed driveways are the result of retarded assed developers, not the flood plane.

Actually, most communities these days have strict setback regulations and codes covering road and sidewalk dimensions, etc.
If you ever have a hard time sleeping go look through your local communities zoning codes. The sheer amount of mind numbing, tedious, and repetative formalization of the built environment will put to sleep in no time flat.
Sadly, America has forgotten how to build decent. It's not the sole fault of developers but local governments and NIMBY citizens alike.

one of my buddies has a pretty bad driveway... almost as bad as that... his car is pretty slammed too... we just gotta take it super duper sideways and then cut over and we can get up it. Idk how you'd get in the garage tho...

Ha ha ha.. Snap i didn't even think of that.. You can also put a box up top and land down the ramp (Driveway).. You can also pit a decent sized rail down that thing... =O... I wanna move there now ! :D
