Ive searched on this and figured out you splice the wires together. but ALL of them? like do you cut the harnesses on both sides and spice ALL the wires together with butt connectors including power/ground? I have an alpine 9853 and with the factory amps i turn it up to volume 3 and my speakers just about explode and there is an audible HISS at 0 volume because of the dual amplification haha.

#1 in my sig. Go to the EL section - Audio.

Look for the wiring diagram for the CD player with amp. Yank the amp out and clip the wires. Then solder the wires directly to bypass the amp.

Match up the incoming wires with the appropriate outgoing wires. The wires change colour so watch out. For example, front right (+) comes into the amp as White and comes out of the amp as Brown. Solder White to Brown to reconnect the signal after you removed the amp.

Do the same for the rest of the 8 speaker wires.

If in doubt, ignore the stock wiring completely and run new wires from the speakers straight to the head unit. This way, you don't even have to touch the amp.

Ok so I should only splice together the speaker wires tho right? as for the power/grnd etc,. I should cut em off and put tape around em so they dont rub together? Your link to FSM's dont work but I think theres another site that does work.

Correct. You only need power and ground for the amp. The speaker signals can go straight from the headunit (or amp), straight to the speaker.

We've been hitting the site without paying for bandwidth so they probably took it off. I want to host the manuals but I'm sure the same thing will happen to me.

What year is your car?

Jesus kid, you're bordering on the line of absolutely fucking stupid with all these remedial questions. Even the now ancient 240sx.org has a nice writeup on amplifier bypass, and that's older than dirt.

Leave the power and ground leads in the plug and tape it up.

or a less permanant method, as well as th one above is to take out the amp
Match up the wires, and use T taps (a clamp type part that you then inserrt a male connector into) to connect the wires. Completely reversable, and effective.
I did it in my DSM and my Grand cherokee limited

Quit crying you fucking girl.

You made a total of three posts concerning a radio install. First you break the trim panel while removing the radio, something that shouldn't have been hard to do even for a crippled squirrel. Next you discuss how you've gouged the shit out of your center console because you failed to realize that dragging a sharp piece of steel across soft plastic would in fact leaves marks. And now, even with the a dozen writeups all over the internet since 1995, you're asking a completely basic question about bypassing OE amps. That's THREE pointless, useless threads about the most basic and easy thing possible. My remarks are as positive as anything else because I'm pointing out that you're ignorant and need to quick huffing glue. Grow some skin and quit whining kid.

Your a fucking tool. All three posts helped me so whats the problem? honestly. thats the goddamn point in posting them.

#1 - The pieces that broke off were fragile and apparently it happens a lot, I was told it doesnt effect the install so I was able to carry on without worry.
#2 - I had cloth laid out over my armest and console however it dug THROUGH it. the scratches are hardly noticable but I was curious if they could be filled or something, totally valid question
#3 - I searched about the amp bypass but still had questions, the last thing I want to do is fry a brand new deck.

Lol yeah im crying over here haha, I just want you to know how much of a dick you are. Maybe you bypass factory amps in your spare time but some people require some reassurance. The point is you came into my thread and insulted me for asking a question about something ive never done before. why would you do this? Maybe you want people to thing your cool over the internet im not sure but please quit e-thugging in my posts.

That being said you've shown your character and its obvious you have to much pride to admit your wrong, Id bet my left testicle your going to respond by spewing even more bullshit nonsense so lets hear it tough guy.

Is there a beach near you?

Seriously, I don't care, I'm just passing the time. If you think I'm a dick that's your right, but I gauran-damn-tee one day you'll need a serious answer to a heavily complicated problem, and it's the assholes like me you'll need to turn to. If you're truly the guy you try to show off as you'll shut up, listen, and research. Using your brain shouldn't be a skill.
