View Full Version : installing aftermarket stereo in a s13
I have tried every single dash kit I can find that they make for Nissan 240sx 1989s and none of them will fit my car. It seems the gap beside my stereo (DIN) is very minimal and the car didn't come with the factory stereo so I have no brackets to work with. Does anyone know if I order the factory brackets or if I can find one off a junker 240 will they work? Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

an aftermarket head unit will bolt right into the factory location just as long as you have the original steel bracket.

the best bet, is to go to the junker and get the factor mounting piece, the ur deck will just bolt onto that...shouldn't be anymore then a couple of bucks from the junker, and there better then those crappy snap together ones...those rattle

Get the steel bracket like the others said. Works perfectly. Only problem you might have, is with that outer piece of plastic or the trim. It may or may not fit around your deck, when you put on the covering piece. My trim piece won't go. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
