View Full Version : Lowered my car...driver side is lower than passenger

I recently just lowered my car with some KYB AGX with some Ksport lowering springs. I always thought my driver side sat lower than my passenger side, but I never really cared to measure it (it looked like a damn 4x4). Now that I lowered it, I can definately see a difference. Its about a 1/2 inch difference. What do you think could be the problem? I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.

Prior accidents, tires pressure, etc. It can be alot of different things. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you think your frame is tweaked.

It's a common occurrence with s13's. Also known as the left side gangsta lean. For reasons unknown, many s13's experience this phenomenon. It was also discussed on freshalloy

Mine leaned to the left with brand new struts and springs. I'll look for the link. It didn't explain why the car does that. People just noticed it.

COilover will fix that easy.

I have coilovers and mine does this as well. I know on fresh alloy they mention (if i remember correctly) that a 240sx stock has a shorter front left shock strut than the passenger side from some reason causing it to sit like that from stock.
anyways, i found that link on freshalloy. it should answer all your questions.

it's under "Best of 240SX" for those that need the reference. Hope this helps. Goodluck.

Hmm...the guy on FA said he replaced his stock shocks and used Tokico shocks and it fixed the problem. I did away with my stocks as well and running KYB AGX and I still have the problem.

This is going on in my s14 too. It FREAKED ME OUT.
Rebuilt apexi coilovers, equal tire pressure, equal coilover adjustment. I first thought it was coilover height, so i just SWAPPED the rear coilovers, and it STILL did the gangster lean...
SO, i took it to TWO different allignment shops and they checked EVERYTHING. They said everything is good.
PHEW!

I noticed a couple weeks ago that my S13 leans to the driver's side as well, I figured it to be normal progresseion (or digression, maybe just plain wear, as it were), though, since I weigh 250, and would willingly wager that most of us are the ONLY ones in our cars, when we are in the driver's seat, seemed natural to me.
... I plan to offset and possibly fix that with a fat girlfriend for the passenger seat
