okay so got the motor in and at first it didnt crank but fixed the problem.
Now it wont start so I cut it down to this...

- ECU powers on
- 2 Ignitor relay boxes click so its working
- fuses are good
- 9.3 volts to the ignitor chip
- no spark
- grounds are good
- power to the part of the main harness that connects to the coilpack harness. *key* (none to the actual coilpacks. how could 4 coilpacks go out? weird to me but I havent tried another set of coilpacks since i dont know anyone or theyre busy.)

anyways...anyone have any ideas what it could be?
The wiring and motor were done by phase2 and put into a running perfectly fine car. I just bought the motor and harness and ecu from someone. No idea what could change from just swapping it over to my car...

I had the same problem with my s15sr swap. After taking apart the harness and double checking everything 15X over, I found the reason to be the power not going through the relay to the coilpacks. The power was getting to the ignition side of the relay, but never made it to the coilpack wire on the other side of the relay. So I simple hotwired in a 12v constant from the radio to the coilpack wire right at the relay. It cranked up first try. If you read this and or want to know more, I can go find out which wire you need to jump, as the coilpack wire at the relay was not the same color as the wire at the coilpacks, but changed colors as it went through the harness. I sold the car to my friend, and I will be at his house tonight and tomorrow, so since its been about a year since I did it, I have forgot the collors at the top of my head, so if you want the collors let me know and I will look at the harness when Im over there. Also I made a thread on this with pictures of the relays but I dont know if I gave the solution once I solved it. Let me go find it.

Okay I found the thread. I also said the solution in it. When you read the solution, nevermind the startsignal thing I said. The part about the car cranking up after you release the key. The reason that was occurring was my mistake of using the cigarette lighter power as a 12volt source. The reason it cranked up after I let the key go, was because when you turn the key over accessory power shuts off. So once I changed it to run off of the radio 12v source ( that stay on while turning the key) everything worked properly.

hmm okay Ill try the same. Im not to good at electrical work but Ill give it a shot.

The only thing that confuses me is that I bought the motor from someone that had the car running perfectly fine (meaning harness was good and correct). Phase2 did the swap for him so the wiring should be perfectly fine as well. The harness/motor came from a 95-96 s14 (same as mine).

So I would assume that it's just a plug and play harness but I guess you never know yeah? Ill check it out though.
