Alright.. first off, yes I have seen the seat thread... My questions was what you would recommend to someone on a budget. Right now I have a ebay special seat with the ebay rails, unfortunately, i'm 5'9 and i still hit the ceiling.
I would like an aftermarket seat instead of a s14 seat or something like that.
I want to have headroom again
I've been looking at the corbeau buckets but I don't know what rails i would use if I want headroom.
I'm poor and I want a seat. I know those 2 don't really go together. Any suggestions?

you haven't searched enough
you can't go low unless you go nonreclinable and you can't go full bucket w/o rails (bride or NAMs).
get the FG rail or NAMS rail + a Buddy Club, SPL, or Chargespeed bucket

SPL seat, DIY rail.
Im 6.2 and my shoulders are about 4in below the top of the door.

how fat are you
corbeau is jankey
the cheapest seat that i would consider sitting in for an extended period would be a sparco sprint

sparco sprint looks good as well... why is it that buckets sit lower? I have no problem with a bucket though.
I have a universal bottom mount rail right now... any chance that would keep the sprint low enough? otherwise, what company would you recommend for rails?

Do you have pics of the rail and mounting?
I've got a cheapy bucket with a diy rail (and am 6'2") and I sit higher than that for sure.

What about the other side? Does the seat sit crooked at all?

^Bride Zeta III on a budget. Seat is AWSOME. I have that and a Zeta III and its just about as good. That and some bride or Nams rails and your good to go. Sorry, but fuck sparco sprint, I'd rather sit on a fuckin milk crate.

The level says it sits straight.
and its more on center to the steering wheel than friends cars with FG rails.

400 dollars for hunkajunka. yeesh
also aluminum seats are way uncool because in a crash the seat will just bend instead of deforming, not safe. can cause spine/nerve damage. everywhere but america (the land of shitty racing) uses composite seats for everything.

Ive got an F1spec type3 seat. its pretty close in design to a Bride ZetaIII
pretty cheap, only cost me 250 shipped w/ shithole sliders and rails that i cut up and made my own out of.......i have about 5in from the roof to the top of my helmet. fiberglass seat, very rigid, padding is sorta janky but it gets the job done!
website is F1spec.com, they have other style to.....also, an FG fits the seat too, if you dont have the means to fabricate your own.
heres an uber old, ultra shitty pic for you

it has aluminum brackets. preaty much what your paying for is the carbonfiber shell and the padding. how is this seat a hunk of junk, no logo?
im also in the market for a new seat/seats i was looking at getting a set of R32 seats but there about as much as an aftermarket seat.
any one got any links to seats that are around the $300 range?

yeah, i daily the car.
i guess its ok, just a little too squishy, could be thicker.
and if you try and take the foam pad out to wash the cover, it rips almost everytime unless your super careful.
all in all very good seat for the price. super rigid. btw, im 5'10" about 180 for reference, nice and tight.

Just save up your money and purchace a quality seat once. Instead of purchacing one that will tear, deform, and basicly suck.
I feel much safer in a seat that is crash approved, then one that is a knock off with sub par construction.
bride zeta III and bride fg rails.
To answer your question though, you should buy a r32 seat.
Feels like a reclinable bucket and they go for $300~ with rails.

I agree.
I think of my seat/rail like I think of my helmet.
Its safety equipment, so you shouldn't go half ass on it.

I recommend Kirkey on Bride FG.
I've NEVER seen someone use a kirkey on a japanese-import car. I really don't know why people don't use them... they're used by everyone else. They're not very padded though... really bare-bones

Hello I have a Kirky in my supra mk3, with custom mount. And to make it a custom fit you can get a foam kit from Pegasus racing supply. You mold it the same way they do it for champ cars & irl type seats .Kirky seats/ aluminum shell seats are approved for SCCA as long as you ad the autopower brace its in the GCR. PEACE

Your an idiot...what makes you think its a shitty seat? Have you ever owned one or even sat in one? Its JUST AS GOOD as my $700 bride seat, but not FIA. Its padding is nice and has held up to daily driving, it looks nice cause its carbon fiber, its lighter than the bride seat by a little, what else do you want?
