View Full Version : One Free Streets of Willow Track Day Slot for Grabs

For Friday, September 29!
I am signed up for a track day I cannot attend due to time conflicts. My 5-lug was supposed to be done last weekend but I ran into clearance problems (stupid Nagisa lower control arms) so now it won't be done until at least this weekend.
The track event is with Leadfoot Adventures, running the Streets of Willow counterclockwise.
If this is your first time, I will not ask for money... but only if you drive an S-chassis. I want you to get grip seat time. However, as my philanthropy has bounds, I will not consider you if you have a body kit and are a newbie, or have an otherwise stock car with an SR. Cut springs on stock dampers also need not apply. The honor system will be at play here. Newbies get first dibs, Premies second.
Please keep in mind that you will have to follow their rules, which includes following their tech. Look here for the tech sheet: http://www.leadfootadventures.com/uploads/Leadfoot_Tech_Inspection_Sheet.pdf
Event details here: http://www.leadfootadventures.com/Event_Details.html
Let me know ASAP if you are interested, as I will have to talk to the organizers and set you up with them.
I am doing this because I want to see more S-chassis out there doing something other than drifting. This will be a one-time thing unless I make a habit of missing track days.

Free track time?!
Have I stumbled into heaven!?
!Zar!

Mmm, tempting.
Premies second!? That's an outrage. haha.
Where did you pick up your Nagisa lower control arms?

SPL, the only place to buy them.
Kevin, you've stumbled into heaven only if you are here. And you are not. Thus, you are in some sort of purgatory where free track time exists but you cannot benefit from it. I would pity you but I'm too busy pitying myself... I have big brakes but cannot use them, RE01-Rs but cannot use them, and track time but cannot use it.
Boo hoo. Someone go to a track for free.

congrats dood. I did this a while back for the local events. Me and a best friend of mine would pay for peoples spots that we thought deserved it. People were stepping up with too many bullshit excuses as to why they couldnt attend. We wanted to see what happened if we offered free track time. Even then not too many people stepped up for the FREE fucking spot.

The people who don't want to accept it are hardparkers.
Claim they are building their car for, "track and dd". When damn near EVERY nub that says that never tracks his/her car. Only tracks the car is likely to see is crossing railroad tracks to go take pics of his car in some parking garage.
Most pepole don't even go through tires at a drift event.
So tires shouldn't be an excuse.
Come on all you mid-day racers. Here is your chance to brag!

Yeah, I agree with you guys. A lot of my friends have "track" cars, rally cars, or mixed project cars, but all their cars have been sitting in their garages for months (years for some).
For me, having a running and working car is priority one (even though I have a separate daily driver). If the next upgrade (suspension parts, turbo kit, whatever) isn't all ready to be installed in one or two weekends, I'll wait until everything is actually ready before I start. I waited 6 months with my suspension until I got my brakes, coilovers, bushings, etc etc all ready.
Back to the topic at hand,
I'm getting more and more excited to do attend this track day by the hour.
Anyone else here going?

put me down for backup driver #617, if all the other prospects fall short. ive got a few track days, but still a novice. was 1 of 2 s13's at big willow last weekend. it was fun having 2 r33 and one 700hp r32 and one 780hp porsche on the track with me all at the same time. of course i got spanked, and that's why i need more seat time...haha.

this is the coolest oppurtunity i have ever seen, and i give u props for it. i would take this but i would have to skip out on work, and i dont like my pads at the moment they fade. but otherwise if you dont have someone else going let me know and i will take the day off work for this. i have been trying to get my car track ready for 3 years and i have finally made it there minus some pads and money for the event. i would also have to read up and find out what kind of helmet i would need.

Wow, you shouldn't be allowed to go.
I would make up an excuse about why I can't go, but I'm pretty sure the people above you have already done so.

Spot is taken. It was finalized last night but Jesus, I was tired.

So who got the spot?
I did :D thanks Steve!
We'll either take my S13 or my old roommate's S13. I'll bring my ghetto camera mount and we'll take some in-car video.
It's been a 19 hour trip -_-
Got some video, will post later when I'm at least half conscious.
Thanks again Steve!

Here's a one lap video of me trying to keep up with an '06 Sti and Evo 8 or 9... with only half their horsepower (and regular tires).
And yes, I was a bit off my line in the middle.
