I got Tein HE's and really dont know how to adjust em (atleast besides the fact that I can turn and tighten those 2 adjusters). Mainly I want to know what the 2 adjusters on top serve? Do they just tighten the spring? or keep it in place? Now how tight should that be? When I raise the car should there be play between the spring?
Now the bottom adjuster I figure it tightens the strut or shock. So does that depict the height? So how do I know how low or high to make the car. I am installing z33 wheels just coz... pls dont ask, but yea and The MF's rub up against everything!!! dammit im cutting into a bunch of Shiznit and yea. :smash: im tired for now but I want to know how to adjust my coils. I just want to be sure that I do it right. Thanks

It's not rocket science... it's ridiculously easy.
Two top let you add or take away preload. There's two because they lock eachother into place so that the spring doesnt loosen itself while you're driving.
Bottom one: Just loosen it so you rotate the entire shock body, then you can lower or raise your car without touching the preload.
"play" in the springs is preference. if you want you're coilovers to last longer, don't let the spring drop. I run a decent amount of preload, but that's just me.
Now that I read the post, I'm wondering why I'm even replying. This shit is easy son.

Well it dont seem like rocket science to me but people around me keep telling me that I will F up the shocks or the coils or something if I dont adjust it correctly. So I was like umm ok what the hell is correct? I just dont want to f em up and waste my 1k bucks. Otherwise I dont really care.
What does preload do? I noticed that once I tightened or set my springs in place, They are very stiff. So the problem I noticed was that my front end hops A LOT! so should I consider removing my front sway?
Another problem is that while attempting to drive, the top of the coils crack. I figure its the springs so is that common? Did I adjust them wrong?
Also, I have tein tie rods and noticed that if I steer very FAR out that my wheels get stuck, is this normal? Otherwise Im a be very pissed.

Why the hell would you remove the sway bar???? And that crack you are hearing could be pillow blocks in the rear (if you have them). It is normal for pillow blocks to rattle around and make noise.
Coilovers are MUCH stiffer than the stock struts/springs and it will be a much harsher ride no matter what you do to it.

Well it hops in the front so removing the sway would allow for the shocks to move up and down more freely no? Well, it works for sure in my MR2, people think its crazy to drive w/o front sway but you will be surprised. I dont like the front hoping the way it does so yea.
The cracking comes from the front however. It didnt do that before but today I raised the car up and have been noticing that the front springs are very loose. So I thought I would make it so that they are firm and in place because I thought that was why my car hops. Well, now Im sure they are fine but it cracks when I want to drive off.
