View Full Version : Car not Turning OFF?

OK so, i searched around if anyone has a problem that im havin but seems like i have seen no one posted about it.

so heres the deal, I just did a 95 swap, on a 93 240sx SE coupe. I used the s13 harness on it. So the Car turns on and everything, but it wont shut off fully, it would kill the engine but it wont fully turn off. The key is out, its fully turned to the off possition, but the lights on the gauge would still be on like Its still somehow getting power even tho its fully off. Go look at this picture and tell me what you guys think that might be causing this problem

this picture means nothing. uhhh, i see the problem you have an ugly wiper knob......

check your wiring.

Sounds like your ignition solinout is shorting out.

One of my s13's I had, had the same problem as you. It ended up being a faulty alternator.

well picture is clearly showing what im talkin about, Its getting power somehow its like my key is in the on position but its not on, and i checked the wiring 3 times already, ill go check tommorow when theres day light. And when i take the battery out, and plug it back in, its ok
its fully off, UNTIL i turn it on again and then try to shut it off, it wont shut fully down.

You know you have a short, atleast you just explained it like you know.... I'd start with the ignition switch, if it looks good.(wiring) Move on to the fuse box while the car is on, start pulling fuses till it cuts off, it will cut off if you pull the right fuse. and if it only cuts off when you pull the main fuse, then get a keg my friend and an FSM, your about to get very intimate with your car.
