never did measure but about the same as the KA if I stay at ~3k cruising in 5th (mostly freeway driving).

it depends on if I stay out of boost or not. Out of boost she's not to bad close to a KA. In boost? Forget it. She drinks it. Is it hard to stay out of boost all the time? Yes. hahhahhahhaha

I got 28 mpg once. It varies on how heavy your foot is really. Lowest Ive gotten is 22 though so its not too bad.

24-25 mpg..and I have a lead foot. I've never really gotten better or worse, highway or city until I switched to an atmospheric bov :duh:

When I used to have stock SR, I got about 25-28mpg when staying out of boost but when I would boost all over the place, it would be like 12-16mpg.

same as most I guess, I've still got stock cams and stock internals, and drive fairly conservatively about 3/4 of the time - I get about 20mpg.

The RB25 Formula D car I worked on would go an entire Drift Day session on half of a 10gal fuel cell, and that was like 10mpg I think - dont remember the actual numbers, just the final.

To answer your deeper question, though, it really doesn't matter. You think that you would like a car less if you traded a 28mpg engine for a 18 mpg engine that only takes the most expensive gas, but really it just makes it that much more special.

If you're debating swapping motors, make sure you have enough cash to do it right (meaning the complete swap, with a buffer for extras), and go for it.

With 740cc on my SR, it likes the gas too much. I get 16mpg with the lead foot and 19 if i take it easy.

There's some difference in the engine, but honestly, its all about how you drive it.

I've gotten 30mpg highway with my KA,
and I've gotten 6mpg (high side estimate) at an all day autocross practice,
running ~13:1 AFR under full throttle..

i just got about 650km out of a tank on an SR. Including 1 full throttle hill climb. 100 ft elevation to 5000 ft elevation. But im still paying $3.40 a gallon so that sucks

I get around the same 300-350 a tank with my sr20. Best I ever got was around 30mpg, worst was when I had a vacum leak I guessed about 17mpg and I was keeping it under 3000rpm to.

well i dont get any worse then i did with the stock ka24e when i dont boost....... once i boost, im not worried about my mpg lol

trsilvias13

I gotten 31mpg on a KA - all freeway before
I got 8mpg on a sr before - lots of drag racing

honestly, If you care about mpg, a swap or modifying a car is not for you. I could care less about gas price (if there a few cents difference at different gas station) or how much mpg I get. I drive to have fun and forget about it all. If you swap and worry about mpg, you will never really find out the motor true potential because you will be driving it like a granny. If you are really concern, get a honda/toyota/hybrid/ something that 30+mpg.

RB25 17-18mpg stop and go (no boostin)
21mpg ish with some freeway
never really got any higher than that because i never drove on the freeway without hitting boost. The final gear + RB25 makes me hit boost with the slightest throttle change in 5th gear at any speed above 60mph
keep in mind my motor is not stock
could be the tuned ecu making me run richer, which makes it safer for the motor, but kills mileage
could be a bunch of other things that contribute to the bad mileage though
