What i should expect for lateral g's in a s13 fastback with 9k front 7k rear coilovers, Hlsd, 255 45 17 potenza s03's on all 4 corners, polyurethane busings, and aftermarket swaybars? this is with no weight reduction. oh yeah and a rough estimate on the slalom mph. I am interested in people with similar setups that have tested this before. Oh and from experience what alignment setups give best grip? i am aware of the scc s13 project car that got ~0.95g just interested in others results or calculated guesses. thanks

who cares, skidpad is completely irrelevant to real world handling.

with 255/45s you're not gonna be able to turn more than 5 degrees so its even more irrelevant.

gsus, 255/45s? youll get better results with a 255/40...and way better as you go down in size; to a certain extent obviously...

i really dont know how accurate this is, but I have one of those G-timer things, and if I go in circles with my S13 It reads over 1g, like 1.05 or something. Ive got cusco coilovers, 235/45 kumho 712's, all rear arms replaced, and subframe spacers.

The skidpad measurement in amount of g force is a measure of maximum steady state cornering force. It is useful to know the maximum cornering ability of the vehicle because once you hit this ceiling, your trajectory is fixed and you cannot make your line any tighter.

The skidpad measurement does not tell you how well a vehicle react to corner transitions. The slalom is better for that.

But the slalom still has its shortcomings because it does not measure the vehicle's ability to cope with midcorner corrections.

Take the numbers for what they're worth, but also understand what the numbers mean. This is assuming that the driver is skilled enough to exercise good driving techniques.

What do you mean by that?? ive heard of people running 255 up front and having no issues with rubbing or having any other problems. s chassis cars are known to be able to stuff the rubber under there.

Thanks g6civcx... yeah i know all that..numbers are numbers and arent completely relevant in the real world, but it does give somewhat of a comparison to other cars with the same type of testing.
