I am a little confused on the names of different cars and what engine came in them.  And from where.  What are the American names, what are the Japanese names?  Can someone use pistures and alot of small words to explain this 180sx, S-13, S-14, S-15 business to me?  I would like to get a better understanding of this.

What I think I know:

American  /  Japanese

1989 to 1994 240SX Coupe       /  S-13   (CA18DET)
1989 to 1994 240SX Fastback   / 180SX  (SR20DET)
1995 to 1996 240SX                /  S-14   (SR20DET)
1997 to 1998 240SX                /  S-14   (SR20DET)
No American Vehicle                /  S-15   (SR20DET)

I am still lacking the engine names for the American 240's.  What I beleive they are; KA24E for the 1989 to 1994 240SX Coupe and KA24DE for all years after?

KA24E was in 89-90.  91-up was DE.

Also - the 180sx is also an S13.
