i was coming back on a plane, and saw this. it states in the "sky mall" magazine that these are the preferred way by mercedes benz mechanics and blah blah blah
i was wondering if anyone has issues with changing their car's engine oil with something like this?

"Supposedly" using a vacuum pump through the fill tube removes more oil than just removing the drain plug. I have not worked with one personally, but I've read about them a few times.

First time I've ever heard of this. Looks interesting but for $65 I'd rather jack up the car. Wonder if they can be found for less?

It's the preferred way on Benz's cause there in no drain plug on the pan. It's the only way to change the oil on current Benz models.

That could save you so much time.
1)open hood
2)insert into dipstick tube
3)watch the oil get pumped out while drinking a beer
4)change the oil filter
5)fill with new oil
10 minutes tops!
instead of:
1)find tools and oil drip pan
2)beer break
3)jack car up
4)open hood
5)beer break
6)fiddle around in your toolbox to find the 14mm socket and wrench
7)beer break
8)get under the car, but realize you're wearing your good shirt, so you go back inside to your house to get a "dirty" shirt
9)beer break
10)come outside and go under the car
11)climb out from under your car because you forgot to bring the wrench with you
12)beer break
13)go under the car with the socket and drip pan
14)loosen nut and oil flows out
15)climb out under car and wait until all the oil flows out
16)beer break
17)get under after the oil flows out and tighten back the nut
18)lower the car just to remember your tools are under there, lift car up again
19)beer break
20)by this time, you're too drunk to do anything, so you leave everything there for the next day

hahaha lazy ass 240 owners....dood its easy as hell to change your oil. this kinda junk makes me sad. i would rather spend 65 dollars on a 14mm wrench.
and i would only buy this is my car had a plastic cover hiding my drain plug. thats where my laziness will show its true color.

I would much rather put my money towards an oil filter relocation kit. the oil filter is in the stupidest location on the sr.

You forgot finding 2X6 boards because the car is too low for conventional hydrolic jacks. Then lining the boards up.
Beer break
Driving onto the board
and while under car trying to remember which way to turn the wrench since you're confused due to having a buzz from the beer breaks and laying on your back.

Lifting the car is the most effort-consuming part. It generally takes me 15 minutes to lift the front end. It's a pain sometimes.
On my stock Civic I can do it in under 30 seconds.

Could be cool for track days, change fluids quickly and painlessly.... whore it out for cash.

I suppose I can use my setup I have for diff changes and use an adapter for a hose thats small enough for the dip stick hole. Sometimes my car isnt always on a flat surface which makes it harder to change the oil. I also have a super low profile jack that still doesnt go under the bumper enough for me to reach the tow hook. I gotta use my 2x4 ramps. A trip to home depot and a few bucks wont be too bad. Motor oil is a lot thinner then the diff oil I use and this pump has no problems with that so it should be even more efficient.

BTW for those who dont understand how a drill pump works, its like this:
