i'm in the process of removing all of the tar from my car, and stitch welding the chassi, i have the s13 coupe.. i was wondering if anyone ever takes the extra metal out behind the back seat, that holds the upper part of the back seat in place... i worked at a body shop so i know i can remove it easily... i'm talking about the whole thing tho... where it holds the speakers and everything.. all the way to the wheel wells.

it does add some structural rigidity, however it you plan to cage the vehicle, i'd say go ahead and chop em

just doing those things won't make up for the lack of structure. Full cage or don't remove it (unless you want a jellomobile)
