Is this really worth it if the car is going to be mostly street driven and on the track about 2 times/month. I am sending the car out for paint and I figured now would be a good time as ever to have this done, since the engine bay is being repainted anyway. Are there any bad sides to having this done? What is the best welder to use, TIG, MIG?????

TIG would take forever. MIG would take a few minutes.

have you ever welded before?
...your gonna need at least a 110 mig welder, a tank, argon, an auto darkening mask, and welding gloves. Should be all you'll need to do it. Or just take it to a shop where they will charge you about 30 bucks to do it. Also, TIG welders are mainly used for aluminum.

you dont need argon gas to weld MIG, but you will need flux core wire, not the best but i use it and its easy fast and my machine is very portable ( no argon tank)
o yea and about 99% of the time i dont ware gloves mig welding, just dont touch any thing thats hot and youl be ok.
