I bought a broadway style mirror at target to see if they work. Well put it on earlier, hit a bump, and the rear view shifted down. With out the broadway style mirror I don't have that problem. Is their anyway to tighten my rearview so it doesn't move as easily? I searched, and read about a rubber factory piece that s14 rearviews have behind em that falls off from heat some times. Not sure if mine has, doubt it. But I dunno if that would even solve problem.

Thanks for any suggestions

I just figured out recently about the screw at the back side of the mirror. The more you tighten the more resistance. Everytime the bass would hit in my car, it would move down, especially if it was in the sun. Why dont you just go outside and check? Probably woulda taken less time to do that then to post here.

if the screw is broken off in yours (mine was) you can set the mirror to where you want it and fill the ball joint with epoxy.

exactly.
I was going to say glue it up real nice, but epoxy sounds way cooler than glue...

Your right about screw, now I gotta see if it helps. Thanks for the help..I would have tried first if I thought of it, but I thought the stem behind the mirror controlled the movement..anyway thanks again guys
