indeed, i believe the power folding mirrors were only avaliable in japan on the s13's and i believe it's only on the K's or it's an option of some kind...

ok let me put it this way.. the ones we have on our S13 , S14 can be only fold manually with our hands. but the 1s that i m talking about now is that there is a switch inside your car where you can fold and unfold your mirror by power as well as you hands. i don't mean by power adjusting it but to fold it and unfold it.
ok here is a link to a ebay item not sure if the description helps or not...

So is it possible to splice the "fold in" control button into the 240sx's wire harness??? Or do the wires need to be run all the way to the mirrors? I've seen on ebay where they sell the mirrors with the switch, and the switch has the wire harness (which is cut like 6 inches back from the plug). Will this harness splice in, or does it need to be extended all the way to the mirrors?

I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) you need to run the wires all the way. Plus you need a relay, so it's a little project.

installation is pretty simple and easy.. the only thing it is different is that they have 2 extra wires for the powerfolding feature.. other than that it is a piece of cake.

Just about EVERY car in Japan has power folding mirrors. Civics, Presidents, Skylines, 300zx, Supra. . S13, S14 and S15.
it's needed because of the space constraints.
The mirror is different, but you can change the glass out, and some other parts to make them LHD.

i've been trying to get the guts out of the USDM mirror as well as the JDM mirror and switch them over .. but the thing that is giving me a hard time is getting the spring out from the USDM mirror and some stupid rust outed screws on the JDM mirror.. once i can get them apart then i hope it doesn't take too long for me to finish up this lil project of mine. if some one can really give me a hand i'll be very appreicated it

You can drill the screw out. Take a drill and keep drilling the head of the screw (where you put the screw driver in) till its gone, that way you can take whatever it is you want to take off. After you take whatever it is off, take a pair of pliers and unscrew the stud thats left over... worked for me everytime i had rusted ish

ok now i've gotten the screws lose and up to the point where i need to get the spring which to lock the mirror in place. and i don have a clue what tool to remove that. i wonder if there is some sort pic of assembly for the JDM mirror and tools to use for such and such part, so things can be a little more easier for me instead of sitting here wondering what to do next... this is tougher than i though it should be.. perhaps i should take some pics of the guts of the JDM mirror and let you guys to come up with something that can help me a little.
