Just get new framerails from nissan... super cheap and you cant go wrong replacing the whole thing. At least you are lucky and only have a crack. Over here in the great 'ol north we got what you call "rust". So much of it, that i've decided to stop looking at local 240's and just save up for a 180...

Frame rails?

Fuck would he order framerails for when the subframe is what's damaged? I love an answer that has absolutely no bearing on the original question.

"Hey guys, I'm low on oil".

"Add some coolant, that will fix it".

I wouldn't say i dont know anything... for not owning one, i think i know alot of damn stuff. I'm just here to learn as much as I can before I jump the wagon and buy one... Do you see me making noob threads about stuff we should all know? no. do you see me posting stupid shit like this, just taking a guess? yes. So there you have it, i was just trying to help.

for those who suggested on the welding. if i welded the subframe would it be strong enough to hold the torque i have on my car right now. it shakes it back and forth. alot for the past 2 days.

what kinda touqre do you think you have lol. welding will work just fine. just be sure you can actually weld and that your welds penetrate.

I say get another subframe like the other guy said. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the S14 & S15 subframe considered an upgrade for the S13 (judging from the owner of this thread)?

A proper weld is actually stronger than the metal that surrounds it. So, if you (or someone you know) know how to weld well, I would go that route.

Replace the subframe. That also give you an excuse to upgrade your bushings! ;)

just get another subframe.. as long as you have a friend a floor jack and a breaker bar replacing a subframe is cake.. i think theres like 6/8 bolts total holding it up.. hell, the hardest part about swapping the subframe is finding one..

i already have a new diff but the bushings well i was thinking of changing them. but not until the end of October i'm on a tite budget right now. i'll probbaly have a buddy of mine weld it for me. i'll make sure both sides on the subframe is welded to make it stronger.

you are right there on everthing i do know that there are that many bolts but if i wanted another subframe i want all the suspenison thats on there already instead of swapping the suspenison too on to the new one. it makes things easier for me. yea finding the subframe is the hardest part.
