Awhile back i wrote a post about having issues about downshifting into 1st gear because it was grinding hardcore. I took apart the tranny and found out that the 5th gear to Reverse shift fork was cracked. I thought how the hell would that cause 1st gear to grind, and i bought a new 5th gear shift fork. All the synchros looked great too. I re-installed everything, still wondering about why 1st gear grinded. Now it doesnt grind going into first gear.... but it does the opposite instead. Both 1st gear and 2nd gear go in too easiliy. Its butter smooth going into the first two gears, almost as if its not going totally in.

If im driving along and in second gear and keep the throttle on just enough to where im not accelerating and not decelerating the shifter will shoot out of gear. the same thing happens when im accelerating and push in the clutch, the shifter will "wiggle" out of gear on its own.

Any suggestions as the cuase of this problem please lemme know. I'm really at a loss. I didnt touch really anything on the transmission except the shift forks which i removed and put back on. I also (dont rag on me too hard if this was a bad idea) power-srayed the internals of the tranny because we thought that maybe something could have broken off under the gears.

Thanks in advance

dont know why you grind going into first. my trannt does the same thing. i got to almost come to a stop before it will go in. try up reving while you down shift its easier on tranny and clutch.

If your going faster then 15 mph when you downshift into 1st It will always grind... Its a safety lock. Just try not to downshift Into first I mean why would you want to anyways really? Your not road racing just put It In neutral.

Thanks for the responses, however my tranny grinding isnt the problem. i somehow fixed that, but now it likes to come out of gear really easily. It doesnt really feel like it "clicks" into gear.

I used the correct gear oil with a lil bit of Lucas additive for the tranny fluid.

It would also help to read my first post fully, and not just the first part.

Thanks
