how to become a vendor

so I'm taking this business class and basically I have to come up with a business plan about the in's and out's of a profitable business. I was thinking about doiig the projects of a on-line parts store. I know a lot of vendors come to this site....

any insider tips on this subject would be awesome

online parts stores are generally not profitable

well, PROFITABLE

cause there are sooo many people doing it, low barriers to entry

low cost to startup

which then equates to typically low rate of return

for your business model i'd pick something else, this industry and PROFIT isn't always synonymous terms

its the same with any business you have to select your target market and cater to that market.. if you want to cater to ricers then u do that if you want to cater to track whores you do that .. of course there are always the JDM freaks
